Most bang for buck = any .30 caliber... 7.62
Mosin will accomplish this. Or go to fucking walmart and get the cheapest .30 cal (7.62) rifle in stock.

But make sure it's the one in .223
If all you want it to do is kill a deer, 91/30 really is enough to reliably do it. I replaced mine with a czech mauser, but really any surplus rifle can handle that much.

I guess a savage axis would be best bang for your buck, but its still a junky entry level rifle, id personally go a little higher and get a Howa 1500
