What was your first CCW? If you could choose again, what would you pick?
>>
>>30025035
I have a glock 42, it's great for summer and I don't regret buying it but I would like a 19 for winter time.
>>
>>30025035
What do you carry OP?
>>
>>30025116
I carry a Gen4 Glock 19. I like it but I feel like I should have just taken a Glock 26 or maybe gone for the Glock 43. I really dislike thin grips, though, and the Glock 26 felt too fat and short.

I carry it in a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe.
>>
>>30025178
I feel you, I would have gotten the 43 but I hadn't heard about it and it ended up coming out a month after I bought my 42. I like the crossbreed holsters though. Did you go with regular cut or combat cut?
>>
>>30025202
It's the regular cut. It feels great and it's worth the $75 I paid. It makes carrying a bigger gun like a Glock 19 feel like nothing. The extra 5-10 seconds to put it on before you leave is worth it. The combat cut is simply an extra $7.50 for them to cut some of the leather off for you. You can just do it yourself if you're so inclined.
>>
Makarov

Would probably gone for a shield 9.
>>
>>30025035
First CCW was the glock 36. If I had to choose again I would choose the XDS-45, if iI was staying in the same caliber. If I wasn't I would choose the shield.

Doesn't matter.

Go to a gun-show or large dealer store and try out what fits your hand. If you haven't done this, then you don't know shit. Literally......

Bersa Thunder. Still carrying it after a decade.

Who?
>>
>>30025035
Walther PPK ,got me laid once. Nah, .32s alright.
>>
>>30025035

first was a 1911

not a terribly comfortable gun to carry
>>
>>30027051
How exactly did a pistol make a girl want to have sex with you?

I get that the PPK is a nice looking pistol, but what sort of situation would this be?
>>
>>30027633
Confidence + shoulder holster + tux + she was a Bond nerd.
>>
>>30025035
HK P7 was my first. G26 was my second. If I had to do it over I'd still get the P7 but I'd skip the Glock and get a Walther PPS.
>>
>>30025055
I carry a 42 in the summer, 26 in the winter.

Glock 26, and it's my current.

Got my letter from the state police last week telling me my CC permit has been approved, and should be ready to pick up on Monday.

I probably should have chosen the Glock 19 because it's an extra five rounds and only like a half inch longer in the grip. But still, the G26 is almost perfect.
>>
>>30028181
I carry the 26 with the 10 round mag, and a spare g17 mag. The 19 prints to much, as the grip is too long. I don't use my pinky finger in my grip.
>>
>>30028227
I'm lucky enough to have small enough hands that I can just barely get a full firing grip on my 26, with about half of my pinky finger holding onto the baseplate of the magazine.

But yeah I'm a smallguy4u so it's probably best that I have the 26.
>>
>>30025035
Hi-power, no because it was a gift from my grandfather.

Still, as soon as I was able I switched it out for something else.

Currently carrying an lh9c and liking it quite a bit. Though it took a couple of range trips before I got used to the DA+ trigger.

I switched to a glock 19 first but I guess I was spoiled on the comfort of single action triggers and the Hi powers grip profile. It wasn't comfortable to shoot and I kept unconsciously trying to flip the safety off when I would practice drawing. After a year I eventually just said fuck it and got the lh9c on a whim.
>>
>What was your first CCW?
HK P30
>If you could choose again, what would you pick?
Walther PPS, which is what I bought immediately after the P30 after I decided the P30 was too big for me.
>>
>>30026990
Same, i just want something with more capacity
>>
>>30028326
yo pps is where its at I have one
>>
>>30025035
1st Glock 22 (not for long and not really CC about 8 years)
2nd Glock 27 (about 5 years)
3rd S&W BG 38 (about 2 years)
Current S&W M&P Shield 9mm (past year)
>>
>>30030389
Capacity doesn't bother me, I don't intend on ever being in a shootout. I just wish I could put some decent night sights on it. Mine is the old, post style, front. Carrying the SIG P238 for a few months spoiled me on the sights.

glock 23
wasnt too bad. I was just over eager and wanted any gun so the clerk really pushed .40 on me. It took a little getting used to and I probably should have gone for a 9mm but shooting 9mm and even .45 after .40 seemed easier
I still have it too
>>

S&W 686, 6" barrel

Only works with a shoulder holster and a heavy coat.
>>
First: FNS. Didn't really buy it specifically for carry, but carried it anyways.

Current: Walther PPS. Disappears in anything.

Sig P320 compact would buy again. Also have a p938 if I really need to conceal. P938 is more of just a cool gun though not nearly as good as 320.
>>
I use a Glock 30s for summer carry. It used to be my annual carry, very comfortable in a SHTF Holster.

Glock 21 for Winter carry.

I'm 6'5 and a fit 220 lbs and have no problem concealing. And I'm not a big,

>muh 45

Guy. I'm just a freak who happens to shoot .45 ACP better than I shoot 9mm. No idea why.
>>
>>30025035
>What was your first CCW?
Sig P238
>If you could choose again, what would you pick?
Sig P938, which is what I now carry; however, at the time I was getting into CC, the 938 had tons of problems, which have now mostly been ironed out.

I may actually pick up another P238 someday. They are really nice guns with good triggers and practically no recoil, but if I did, I would get one of the HD (stainless steel frame) models, just because all steel .380's barely have any recoil and are just a lot of fun to shoot. There's no point having both a P238 and a P938, IMO. They do the same thing, but the P938 does it better.

I carry a 30SF because I was in the same boat. I tried it and was grouping one ragged hole at 7 yards and a pretty good pace, maybe one shot every 3/4 of a second. Then I tried shooting a 17 at the same distance and the group was a fuckin dinner plate. No idea why. Maybe I was just getting tired. I was pretty new to shooting when this happened.

So my father in law bought me my first (and currently only) gun, this 30. Well... now I fuckin hate it. Tried out a friend's 21 with his Blade Tech and it was literally no harder to conceal... I was like fuck my life why did I go with the 30. The 21 never even crossed my mind for CC.

Looking at full-sized guns now. I hate, hate, hate small guns. I might buy a J-frame one day just to have a revolver and because they look cool but... my "compact" and "sub-compact" days are over. Full-size is just better in every way and I'm not as big as you (6'1") but I can conceal them no problem too.

You might find this funny but I even tried the new(ish, now) 41 and it just disappeared under a T-shirt. Fuck this gun... I will keep it for sentimental value (first gun, gift from wife's dad), but it will probably just end up going to one of my sons when I die.

Literally every good CC pistol that isn't an HK, PPK, revolver, or Glock didn't exist yet. No, Maks are not good CC pistols.

weird how there are old people here

If you started carrying in 1981 that would make you at least 56 years old
>>
>>30036909
Cool.

What do you carry now? Personally, I bit the bullet and bought a fucking .380 PPK/s in 2002. Don't really regret it, thing's a dream to shoot because it's heavy for its size. Will probably switch again to a Ruger LC9S here in the next year or so.
