If I were to design a rifle, what should it be chambered in? Im looking for the best all-around bullet in terms of price, ballistics, and stopping power. Pic mostly unrelated.

175 grain 7mm bullet is a excellent balance of weight and savage BC. could take deer to moose with this bad boy. not that this isn't true with all of these bullets.

You can't answer that question without first deciding what the rifle is for. Is it a military rifle or a hunting rifle? Is it for hunting squirrels or elephants? That said, any of the .264 or .277 caliber rifles will do nicely for anything in North America (including humans) except brown bears and polar bears. For them, I would go with .300 Win mag or, if the recoil is too bad for you, 30-06. For African dangerous game, .416 Rigby should do the job.

The safety knotch is a bit wiggly but is the yugo mauser worth it?
I only have a turk mauser from somewhere in the 18 centry or something.
