My VZ-2008, pic related, while it was cheap, looked real fucking cool and was a blast to shoot, was the worst piece of shit I've ever fired.
FTFs every mag with any ammo, somehow a wandering zero with irons (how is this even possible?), shot about 8 MOA on a good day.

I'll definitely agree there myself if we're talking about a legit cz built vz58, especially if you put a fixed vz stock on it. Either way, I enjoy collecting aks a lot more, but the vz is my best all around rifle in the collection.
And I hope most vz2008 owners eventually get disposable income and buy the real cz deal because it's definitely a lot nicer all around. The vz2008 I used worked well enough, but the fit was pretty bad compared to mine, and the parts felt extremely sandpapery when I worked the action.
The vz2008 I used was clanking 400 yard steel accurately at 400... but ONLY after removing that pile of garbage slant brake century added and leaving the threads bare. It couldn't shoot accurately to save it's life with the slant on. And in addition to not shooting good groups, it was also shooting way up and right by many feet out at 400 until that slant brake was gone.

The Vz is the more modern rifle (BHO, almost good selector) but it looks like shit, the mags look xboxhuge, it's not very widespread, and it doesn't have much in term of aftermarket parts.

I've owned two, an 18.5" barrel model and pic related with a 11.8" barrel.
The only downsides of the VZ are the trash mounting options (no long scopes), dissassembly and reassembly is slower than an AR, and mags are gigantic. Otherwise they're pretty dope.
If I buy another one ever, it'll probably be a clone of the original military rifle (15.4" barrel with bakelite furniture)

It's called a private transaction. WASRs, SARs, DDIs go for $500 or so all day on the secondary market. I paid $525 for this SAR-3 earlier this year, face to face cash deal. 1200 rounds thru it the first month I had it and not a single hiccup. Couldn't say anywhere close to the same about my VZ.
