It's my everyday carry aside from my P99 that I cary if I have a jacket or something on. Yes LCP and the like are light, but nothing beats the shoot ability, accuracy, and trigger of a good ppk. They are hard to find new now due to Walther cutting all ties with S&W. Go for it OP, you'll love it and always go back to it.

I carry a p64, which is the polish clone in 9mm mak. I use a vega iwb suede holster since it has a thick plastic belt clip and can be switched for left or right hand carry.
Reason why i carry this instead of an actual ppk is because its impossible to order one new, gun shows only have them in 22lr, and the ones ive seen online arent worth the money.
I carry condition 3, so the heavy DA pull isnt an issue. If something ever gave me cause to pull the trigger, it only takes an extra second to rack the slide. Also, from what i understand, its about as drop safe as a tokarev, which is another reason I carry condition 3.
I prefer this as a carry gun over anything else because it fits perfectly in my hands, the SA trigger is 2.5lbs no creep, its solid steel, and its small enough that it doesnt profile in gym short pockets.

I did some back yard ballistics testing involving jugs of water. The .380JHPs (PMC StarFire and Winchester PDX1, both 95grain) failed to expand in any meaningful way. Other than rifling marks they are indistinguishable from an unfired round.
.40S&W JHP on the other hand expands like a motherfucker. Speer Gold Dot 165 grain and Federal HST in both 165 and 180 grain I have found and measured more than .70". Actually more than the .45acp JHP I've measured.
As far as penetration... The .40 and .45 all were recovered from the third water jug except one found in the 4th jug.
The .380s were dug out of the gravel pile beyond the 4th jug.
All that to say I may carry M&Ps but I'll never sell my PPK/S

I have a 1930s ppk. I would never carry it because I have a p238 for maximal concealment, and could carry a similarly sized 9mm for more reliable man-stopping. It is a very pretty gun, though.

I have a PPKs and Shield and carry both. PPK is more comfortable and has sentimental value, Shield is better in every other way.
