Need to keep in mind a bunch of things before judging these battles. A 3d view is needed when deciding how awestruck these battles can or cannot be.

The outnumbered Rhodesians had 20 bombers and 10 choppers with them to take down the thousands of shit sniffing Zanla niggers. Squadrons of well trained pilots with bomb payloads and 20mm ammunition can easily fuck up an entire division of conscripts. Air cover came through there.

There was no enemy present. Thus it wasn't even a real battle. All that occurred was war time accidents and errors. The cunning, bravado, strength, training, and combat fortitude of the opposition force wasn't shown at all here. That's like saying Ken Shamrock lost his fight against Kimbo Slice because he had to undergo eye surgery before the match.

Out of the aforementioned battles this is the most impressive. But still, let's keep in mind of the Japanese military tech. We're dealing with 250 Brit planes vs 566 Jap aircraft. Plus 23 limey tanks vs 200 Nip armor.
The brits were flying out of date obsolete Brewster Buffalos that overheated in that climate. Meanwhile the Japs had Oscars and Zeros that could fuck their shit up and were the top of the line aircraft in that part of the world. That's like sending 250 F4 Phantoms up against 566 F22 Raptors. Without the air cover and having the Imperials bomb and strafe the living hell out of Brit and Commonwealth troops, they were pretty much fucked hard.
Then there's the armor.... The Japanese tanks were far superior to small group of Brit shit on the field. Many Japanese tanks had a 37-57mm gun mounted on their armor. Meanwhile the Brit and Commonwealth had these armored cars and "tanks" that only mounted a machine gun. The Japs had this won out from the start.
Sure you may have more meat puppets than the enemy, but the enemy has more steel to cut through you.

Air force is a big factor, the japs have air supremacy over there but in Malaya bombing out the enemy is pretty hard, usually you need 210 kilos of dropped explosive per casualty in the jungle
Tanks are also compounded by the same problem, and in the Malayan terrain they can easily be funneled out to be picked by anti tank guns, just like what the aussies did in Muar, the only battle they really made a huge impact in is in Slim River
What really was the deciding factor is that the japs have bicycle,a jap soldier could carry more load, conserve more energy and traverse terrain much faster especially since there wasn't too much road for motorized vehicle there, jap formation would assault british line and encircle retreating troops due to their speed

Never before in the field of human conflict was so much surrendered by so many to so few with so little.
