Speaking of old guns, what are common breakage parts on pistols? For example, if I had a p38, p-08, or maybe an old 1911. What spare parts should I have on hand? I figure all springs, a recoil guide rod, and a spare hammer. What else?

Sorry I got a new phone since then and lost the pics, and i also sold the gun. but I will tell you it looked a fucking lot better than when I got it.
I only have success in pawn shops, rarely I'll find half a break open or musket in an antique store.

I'd say that their main use would be for low light self defense situations. And yet every time I see one on a gun, I think less of the person as a firearm owner. Usually because the person who owns one knows little about firearms and got it because it's tacticool.

They can be very useful, not necessarily in low light but when your shooting position or posture is compromised. A lot of things can happen in a gunfight and not being able to use your sights very effectively is certainly a possibility.
I would advise a light/laser combo. Green lasers are definitely preferable to red, they provide better contrast and the human eye tends to be able to spot them faster.
Does anyone know if those funnel/krinkov/conical muzzle breaks are made in 5.56 for ARs?

Dumb, people get them to try and make up for a lack of shooting skills. Like 3 people at my CHL class had them and on the shooting portion of the test, they barely passed even with lasers
Are there any rifles( so not a sten) commonly available that have side loading magazines? When I say commonly available I mean not shit like the FG-42, despite how hot it is.

I have a S&W 642 that I put CT laser grips on. The pistol has a very short sight radius and accurate shooting past 20 feet is iffy. I'm a reasonably good shooter and the main reason I got a laser for it is because it's my carry gun and I figure if painting some asshole with a laser is enough to make him turn and run I'm OK with that. Not that I feel sorry for the piece of shit but I don't need the legal hassle.
does wearing a plate carrier over a gorka defeat the purpose of a gorka? To me it looks like the four front pockets would be blocked off by the carrier, but I dunno.

I'm a fucking manlet. 5'6", 125 pounds, definitely a light weight. I'm also a bit jumpy when it comes to loud noises but otherwise quite chill.
I can handle .22 lr just dandy, but I tried to fire a .270 the other day and the recoil made me jolt. Is there a rifle caliber larger than .22 lr that won't make me shit my pants but will drop anything deer-sized?

243 (more common here) or 257 Roberts for 2 calibers that are light recoiling but more than adequate for proper deer hunting
maybe even 22-250 depending upon your hunting regs
Seriously though, manlet or not, unless you've had shoulder/back surgergy, if you can't handle 270 recoil, you're doing something wrong.
