That said, if I ever have an MP5, I want it to be the full-size one and not the MP5K or similar. The K has totally been outclassed by other options on the market, but I think the larger variants still offer a real shootability and cool factor that other guns don't really match.

A MP5 doesn't lose anything to its modern competition and shoots softer than any straight blow back gun ever will. It has great aftermarket support, it's reliable, and very accurate. The only downside is cost and the POF's and Zenith's give you an excellent way to get into a license built one for less than the crazy money a custom build or an old HK gun costs.
