Hey /k/, Aus-fag here. I'm wondering what's some top notch home-made weapons for home protection/ looking cool? Since I'm in Australia if someone comes into my home I can't just pick up a gun and shoot the cunt. So what's a efficient homemade weapon to make sure no sneaky aboriginals come in and steal my booze? I've been making whips and monkey fists out of paracord, as much as they look cool I don't think they will protect my booze stash.

A friend of mine found a really nice looking candle holder made from solid brass. About a foot long, and a thinner section near the top for added grip. WAY better weapon than something preconstructed like a whip or monkey fist, since its ezpz to argue that you just grapped whatever in the heat of the moment.
I'm sure you can find something similar.

Have you tried constructing a Caselman machine gun. So far it's the best makeshift home defense device, all made from legally obtainable parts. Just make sure to keep spare CO2 bottles so it doesn't get nerfed down.
Just try looking up improvised firearm manuals on google. Shotguns are good since the shells are relatively legal to obtain in most anti-gun countries for hunters.

I thought of this idea once of getting an aluminum bat and strapping one of those long spiked bracelets black metal kids wear to it and turning it into a mace-type club for home-defense

If I was stuck in a noguns land I would keep a stout homemade lamp between me and the entrance.
Built with an extension cord, detachable base and a large bulb right on top could quickly be used as first an illuminated pole and an electric spear if needed (worked in Jurassic park on raptors). A 1:1 transformer might keep an extended short from tripping a fuse too quickly. Dont forget to insulate your end.
The lamp could be made from the same kind of parts needed to make a slamfire shotgun hiding raw materials in the open for a real emergency.

I was thinking making some ww1 style trench weapons. Namely a hobnail bat. Instead of a wooden one, i figured the cold steel bats would hold up to much worse abuse and hold in hobnails/bolts alot better than plain wood
