I'm a member of garrison at the AGC range only. All things considered, 200 for the year isn't that bad. Most private ranges are at least 10 bucks for a session so if you go once every few weeks it's worth it.

There's usually just one or two other people there, even at the 100 yard range. It's pretty nice not being surrounded by other shooters. This past week I went on Wednesday and an old fudd let me load and shoot his antique musket. Also talked to the RO for a while. People seem to be much more relaxed.

Anyone here been to the PG Trap and Skeet Range? It's completely free of nogs and the range is beautiful and cheap. 10/10 would recommend, wish I was closer to it, a 45 minute drive on the beltway is enough to kill a man inside

So I'm new to Baltimore City (Remington) from the Boston area, and I was wondering what the good clubs are in this area?
I used to shoot at WSA in the Greater Boston area, and I thought it was a great mix of fudds and competition types, with a healthy helping of no-nonsense 2A types sprinkled in (and no nogs trying to be gangsta or new Asian/Indian immigrants trying to be John Wayne, either).
Which clubs here have a similar vibe? I used to shoot a bunch of small bore target, and I'm looking to get into high power target and possibly trap as well.
I couldn't care less about pistols since this is a no-carry state and handguns only interest me as a self-defense weapon.

Come to the AGC range. It's members only but becoming a member is quick and easy and you don't have to volunteer, go to meetings, etc. They have a 100 and 200 yard range plus 4 trap fields, one of which is wobble trap.
People are usually laid back, most people there are 50 and over though so don't expect to see anyone else in their 20's.

The BRC seems like the easiest, but I honestly don't mind going to meetings and volunteering if it's a good group of dudes, and I wouldn't mind a bit more structure if it meant I could ease back into competitive shooting.

I wouldn't even worry about it. If you like talking to people the fudds are there but you can also easily show up, shoot, and go home without speaking to anyone.
I joined garrison because they are one of the least expensive and don't have any membership requirements. Some of the clubs there require that you attend meetings, are registered to vote, and have a NRA membership. A lot of clubs have monthly shoots but unless you are already friend with someone it's basically a group of strangers having a casual competition.

The only place I can think of that specializes in luxury sporting rifles is hendershots out in hagerstown, a 2 hour drive from Baltimore. Montgomery county has a few indoor ranges so you could look there. Those are usually pay per day. I've never shot anywhere except the AGC so I'm not too familiar with the other ranges.

Went there once with my brother, never been to an indoor range before but i liked it. Place was clean, well ventilated and the staff were super nice. they had targets, eyes&ears, and such you can rent, even let me sweep the brass that fell forward of the firing line. RO was laid back but professional, we chatted and i let him fire off a few rounds from our guns too. I even saw one giving a hand to some young guys with a .22, helping them with their groupings i guess.
doesnt beat AGC, but its great for being near by, so if i dont feel like making the drive out to AGC or just got off work. I can stop into MGN.
