Do you dream of hunting seaplane pirates in the Adriatic?

I've got a 10 year plan in place right now that should allow me to accrue 5-8 million in assets by the end, depending on how well I do with it.
If at the end of the 10 years I liquidated everything, would it be enough to fulfill my dream of buying a large flying boat and living out the rest of my days on it as a world traveling air pirate?
Or do I have to push the timeline back even farther?

Oh fuck yes
I'm hard right now
Didnt fly besides the short 1 mile run up but pretty interesting

It's one of my wet dreams.
I assume if you have some skills in sheet metal working or wood-working you can buy an almost-wrecked one and repair it. It would be the project of a life.
This thread is too talespin for my tastes. Needs more nightmare fuel.

I don't have any serious airframe experience, but I'm in the piloting industry. Not currently cross certified to fixed wing, but it's a pretty easy transition from rotorcraft. I just want to retire relatively young and spend my days checking out remote pacific islands and fishing off the wing of my seaplane.

>Short Brothers had built the Empire flying boats which were capable of operating long range routes across the British Empire but could only attempt the trans-Atlantic route by replacing passenger and mail-carrying space with extra fuel.
>It was known that aircraft could maintain flight with a greater load than is possible to take off with; Major Robert H. Mayo, Technical General Manager at Imperial Airways proposed mounting a small, long-range seaplane on top of a larger carrier aircraft, using the combined power of both to bring the smaller aircraft to operational height, at which time the two aircraft would separate, the carrier aircraft returning to base while the other flew on to its destination.

it even has 1 guy sitting on top of each of the "engine modules"
I wonder if they are the ones who operate them seperately
Suddenly a wild DO-X makes an appearance.
