Navy SEALs are meant for covert warfare, not open combat except as a last resort. Why is the US government making them do this shit? Actually they are not, they are not trained extensively in infantryman tactics. They are more adapt on the water, rangers and green beret bread and honey is the land and they are more extensively trained on infantryman tactics then other sof, in addition to their training as instructors on such tactics. I remember reading a couple /k stories awhile back about regular infantryman bitching and complaining about navy seals with their general behavior on the battlefield from not being able to coordinate functionally with on the ground units to just their general lack of unit cohesion with regular ground forces. So no they are not highly trained infantryman they are highly trained boatman
