Mosins were 4-600$ around me 08/12. Still in the $300 range today. Bought an sks for $200 before '12, sold recently for 400 in less than 24 hours.

Without projecting myself too much, it irritates me that my friend is preoccupied with buying cheap surplus crap. I've been trying to persuade him to get an AR-15 or some common rifle for the fear that he may not be able to get one ever, soon.
