Can we have a gas mask thread?
I'm broke as shit but I know that most surplus gas masks are useless to the point of being for cosplay only. Would it be safe enough if I were to buy an *unissued* Israeli civilian gas mask and use sealed NATO filters with it? Not very knowledgeable on the subject.

it would be easier and cheaper to get a good respirator from home depot, they're about on par with the gas masks issued.
Also, does anyone have that infograph of viable gas masks and filters? Guess I accidentally deleted it. Doesn't really answer my question but was important info nonetheless.

Soviet GP-5, can be had on ebay for $15, beware, filter may or may not cause cancer, I wear mine regardless
