The recent threads were more well versed quality, however, do to my lacking presence of enforcement and driving out of image dumpers and generalshitters, things got out of hand. Usually I would start the threads but recently I have stopped so /k/ and most anons can have a break from it since there isn't much going on in the /k/omic for now until later updates.

Golgo 13 is not a manga you want to read for anything like technical accuracy.
To wit: in one chapter he takes out his target by giving a bystander a belt whose buckle has a curved design on it. He then shoots the belt, the bullet scrapes around the buckle before ricocheting off and killing the target.
It can be a fun read, but it's not for the autistic sort of /k/ommando by any means.

"I Am A Hero" is a zombie apocalypse manga. It has a live-action movie adaptation that's coming out this year. The Japanese manga has been running since 2009 but it's convenient to get into now because Dark Horse Comics has just started publishing the manga in English.
What makes it interesting to /k/ is the fact that the main character owns a shotgun BUT it's not so he can go around like Ash from Evil Dead toting his boomstick - he owns a legal, licensed shotgun in a country with extremely restrictive gun control (even worse than Britcucks or Ausfailia) and he handles it realistically because of that.

Golgo 13 is a literal institution in Japan. It's been published continuously for 48 years (and the original author is still involved in the project). Viz Media put out a 13-volume run of selected stories, a sort of 'greatest hits' compilation, a number of years ago (I read it, I thought they were pretty good, worth buying). It's out of print but copies keep turning up, you may have more luck finding a DVD of "The Professional", the Golgo 13 anime movie.
Golgo 13 often has stories ripped from the headlines and there's a fair amount of political commentary on them. Some of his more notorious hits include having a hand in the death of Princess Diana and the Tiannamen Square massacre.
