S&W Shield Rusty Barrel?

Just picked up my Shield and I took it apart and noticed that there seems to be what I think is rust on the barrel. It may be copper fouling but when I wiped it down with ballistol with a boresnake and some patches, it wasn't green.
Did I just get played?

I picked up my Shield today as well. I live in CA, so thumb safety is mandatory, but I don't find it a hindrance like the memelord you seem to be. Also why did you not completely inspect the gun before agreeing to purchase it?

Does ballistol even contain ammonia? Give it a good cleaning with something like montana x-treme bore solvent. If it remains contact S&W. My Shield has been flawless.

I'm gonna go and try some hoppes out and see if that will do anything. There was some visible salt like specks inside but I removed it when I cleaned it out with ballistol. It does contain Ammonium Oleate

I usually do this but I forgot to this one instance. At least the hoppes is working somewhat well.
