Let's discuss the inevitable Civil War for the Saudis when oil money gets the population stirred up enough for the princes to begin going full Game of Allahus one one another using foreign mercenaries or more hopefully their cartoonishly incompetent native forces.

Which one wins?

Do we send Kurt Russell in afterwards to mop up?

9/10 saudi's I've studied/worked with cheated like crazy. These 20 year olds would buy a $150k car every year, and ship the old one back home. The one out of ten was extremely nice and a really hard worker.

Soon as shit gets nasty, everyone with money will pull out and move to their summer homes in Europe or America and you'll have another typical middle east situation where a civilized country collapses in on itself over pointless fighting over ancient tribal slights. People will be posting then and now pictures of big modern cities turned to rubble with the odd rebel running around with a random weapon which we will discuss in detail.
>>
>>29808733

Pretty much this.

And another million or so refugees get into Sweden.

Israel moves in as a peace-keeping force, annexes the entire Arabian peninsula for Lebensraum.
>>
>>29808733
It's not quite the same, because Saudi will be the country which has fallen the most.

Also, their gear is high-end and Western, so the arms proliferation post-fall will be interesting to see. Has there ever been another failed state like this?
>>
>>29809075
Meh, that just means we'll get to see filthy rebels running around with a WA 2000 or Pancor Jackhammer or something similarly ludicrous from someones million dollar firearms collection.

iirc libya had the highest percapita income and standard of living of the ME/NA but its smaller pop than saudi. Honestly all of the ME wars are really the same war just in different places. They are only differentiated by their oil reserves
>>
>>29809187
That's what I mean, it will be neat to see.

Most arms will just be military though, so a bunch of AUG and G36 rifles. It doesn't look like Saudi gun laws are that permissive so not much luck with the private collection.

(Plus the wealthy ones will be able to escape anyway, along with all their stuff)

The Shia minority happens to live where the oil is. This also happens to be where the competent saudi security forces are.

What is really going to be fund? is watching Mecca get turned into Aleppo 2.
>>
>>29808239
Do certain princes or other wealthy members of the royal family currently maintain private militias? Or will the military fracture and split into factions based off of tribal and/or regional loyalties?

To that end, is the Saudi military loyal to the king or the country and it's people? While one must be realistic about the fighting capabilities of the Saudi military they are still a mildly competent force and applied appropriately, could likely stamp out the proverbial spark before it has a chance to start a fire

Hard to turn away a clown if you are security

It'd be interesting to see what the Shia minority would do. Would they appeal to Iran for help in securing Saudi's oil fields?
>>
>>29809915
I'm sure Iran would help them out but securing the oil fields won't happen, they don't have the numbers and there's no way the U.S. would let a group loyal to Iran control the oil.

Saudi Arabia is a piece of shit country that I would like to see glassed, but if they collapsed the geopolitical situation would probably get worse. It would be a new playground for Islamic terrorists, ISIS would almost certainly be heavily involved, and once they're there there is a chance that they will get their hands on all that cash and oil that is just laying around the country. Saudi Arabia is also extremely important for US interests in the region so the Americans or even all of NATO would almost certainly be deeply involved. There would also be a massive power vacuum since one of the Middle East's four major state powers (the other three being Iran, Turkey, and Israel) would likely scramble to carve up the area where Saudi influence evaporated. It's likely the Egyptians, Russians, and other Gulf Arabs would try to do the same. This would inevitably lead to conflict, proxy wars etc in countries where they previously didn't exist. Battleground countries that already have high tensions between Sunni and Shia would likely tear themselves apart as Iran takes advantage of Saudi weakness and other Sunni powers like Turkey or Qatar try to prop up their allies to keep the Iranians from expanding. In short the instability that followed the Iraq War will have literally nothing on this, it would be a catastrophe in every possible way, the best we could hope for would be for the actual fighting to be contained to Saudi Arabia, plus the areas where it already is (Iraq, Syria, etc) and for the other powers in the region to go about carving Saudi Arabia's former areas of influence quickly and cleanly with minimal bloodshed and minimal opportunities for ISIS or Al Queda to gain a foothold. This is probably inevitable though, the world is actively trying to move away from oil use, so Saudi Arabia has at most a few decades of life left in it unless Allah grants them a miracle.

The Temple or Solomon was destroyed twice, and yet the Jews still exist.
>>

>>
>>29811863
Isn't ISIS actually financed by Saudi Arabia? With this support gone, I don't think they would last long.
>>
>>29811915
Nope
though they do give them gear indirectly through sending their most shitty personnel equipped with monkey model M1 Abrams for the sole purpose of giving them to ISIS without making it look like they were just giving them
>>
>>29811863
Everything you described is still better than letting the Saudis keep existing.

War has changed
>>
>>29811915

From what I understand ISIS was originally funded by the Saudis (just like all the other Sunni Islamist factions in Syria) but they have since become enemies because ISIS essentially bit the hand that fed them. There have recently been bombings in Saudi Arabia that ISIS had taken credit for. That being said there still may be wealthy Saudi individuals who are privately supporting them on the down low.

>>29811953

Not really, it won't put and end to all the child marriage, sex slavery, and all the other horrific bullshit that goes on there. In fact it will probably all get worse.

I'm curious as to what would happen if SHTF over there. How much of an impact would it have on the rest of the global economy. I'm assuming if Saudi fell then dubai and all of them would domino as well.

Well I'm not an expert on the Arab peninsulas economic build up but I'm assuming that they all generally follow the same rough plan of oil export and imports of everything else simmilar to the Saudis.

Just because you relate to some of the NEET princes doesn't mean the government of Saudi Arabia isn't one of the most dangerous allies of the US.
>>
>>29812721
It's one of those countries under the "Allies" list vs the regular Allies list that NATO goes under.
>>
If their is no internal strife in the House of Saud then nothing will happen, if they are happy with the line of succession then nothing will happen. The Saudis are not as bad off financially as say Russia is or parts of Latin/South America because they have huge reserves of capital that nobody knows how deep goes.

As well they have huge reserves of oil ready to sell, they (and by them OPEC, Oil Producing Countries, largely the Middle East and places like Venezuala) merely hold off on production since it is the overproduction that has dramatically lowered the price per barrel. They hold production and the prices rise, the price of the barrels rise and any sort of civil strife passes.

There is no danger of a civil war as the Saudis are entirely driven by financial gain, they are more Capitalist than the US. If money can buy it, they buy will. They will avert a civil war with manipulation of their industry.
