Anons, need your help. I'll be carrying on campus in August at a very liberal uni here in Texas. I'm a TA teaching physics labs so I'm constantly on my feet, walking to and out of labs, and doing research. My number 1 priority is concealability and comfort. I'm afraid if it's not comfortable then it'll most likely wind up sitting in my bag. Concealability is a must. I have everything from trannies, femenazis, mudslimes, indians who don't know US law, dykes with blue/green/purple/short/combo hair, and VERY quasisocialist liberals for coworkers. There's no telling the level of rage that might come out of them if they were to spot that I'm carrying a (legal) CC pistol while on campus, or in the classroom, for that matter.

I'd prefer the caliber be in .357sig since I already have over 1500 rounds of the stuff. Other than that I could really not care as long as it's larger than .32 auto. I've been looking at PPKs, maks, and other 380s/9mm for the job. My budget is under $800 and it doesn't necessarily have to be a new firearm.

What are some of the dream CC pistols you can cough up?
>>
glock 43 and q series holster
>>
open carry an ar
>>
Pocket carry something like an LCP.
>>
>>29793265
I'm not sure how your body is built, maybe go to your LGS and check out some of their stock.

G43 sounds good, I heard you can get 9rnd magazines for it now.
>>
>>29793400
those are good guns but they're bricky. How is Kahr? Do they make 357sigs? The other option is maybe p238 in 9mm.
>>
google urban carry, its a deep concealment holster. I don't have one because I don't need deep concealment, but it looks pretty good.

Alternatively OC on your hip and bath in trannie dyke tears.
>>
>>29793511
OC on campus isn't legal yet though
>>
>a very liberal uni
>in texas

You poor Austinfag.
>>
>>29793467
The 43 is the new single stack glock, so a very thin brick
>>
>>29793559
UNT. Possibly worse than UT
>>
>>29793265
Pocket carry a .380 or 9mm. Something with a steel frame that you could enjoy shooting. A good pocket carry holster would print like a wallet.

You could do deep concealment, but it takes a long time to adjust to, may require a change of dressing style, and can limit your motion.

Jesus. I went to UNT my freshman year, 2011-2012. Withdrew after classes ended cause it was so bad. I was surrounded by either niggers or hipsters. That being said, op the gun doesn't quite matter so much as your holster. I have carried a full size 1911 for several months and have never been spotted. Get a good gun belt, get a small gun like an LCP or LC380 and call it a day. Alternatively, the glock 42 is really nice. Small, but with the pinky extension fits great in your hand, and the 380 is really nice to shoot as opposed to the 43, which I found to be pretty snappy.

>>29793265
So, typically for CC I would say that appendix carry is a very good way to CC and not be caught with it, since in normally situations around town people just pass by you and will almost never glance at your junk, being a typically-odd area to be discovered having eye contact with. However if you are actually teaching classes, you will be facing all of your students for hours on end and will have your front exposed the entire time. If you have some horny student and you are a decently attractive TA, it may not end pretty. I'd recommend CCing at a hard 6 o clock, rather than either side position, imo.

Use one of these, I'm currently attending a liberal university as well. This holster is almost undetectable
>>
I thought carrying on campuses was illegal.
>>
>>29793265
Makarov, colt detective special, just go any single stack 9mm or short revolver.
>>
>>29793715
Not in Texas and it depends on the campus and local laws in other areas.
Some states actually require it to be legal on campus.
>>
>>29793667
How do you use it...?

How are sig938s for pocket carry? I'll be doing the same thing in August and I really like how they look. I love my P226, so I figured I stick with the brand, but I've heard not so great things about them. Thanks
>>
>>29794188
>How are sig938s for pocket carry?
You can do it, but just barely. A Ruger LCP/Kel-Tec P3AT is what you should get.
>>
bodyguard on the ankle
>>
>>29793265
Desert Eagle, printing as much as possible.
>>

Engineering Dept. is basically India.
Anyways probably going to pick up a P224 or Rami for hotter days and stick with my M11A1 when it gets cold.

OP I have a Rossi R46102 that I CC. I carry IWB which is a giant pain in the ass it is like hiding a baseball only works if you are wearing a jacket of some sort or baggy af clothes. I still love the thing, but fuck go with a shoulder rig man and go full size. Colt python will never do you wrong, there's a reason it's called "the best revolver in the world".

What are you wearing on campus?
>>
>>29793265
But unless they see the gun, they cannot know if you have it or not, untill they look, you are both armed and unarmed.
>>
>>29793609
You should see it now that Trump supporters have started to come out of the shadows. Every day is a fucking headache here.

OP here

Took your advice. Just got back from Cabelas in Ft. Worth since I had nothing else to do while students are tossing around brainwaves for finals.

Asked around and sales associate showed me this. They had one used for $299. But was really cool was some company called Desantis makes a holster that looks like a wallet that fits just like a cell phone in your pocket.

So my next question is the Bodyguard a good pistol? I bought a p250 a few years ago. I'd like to not make that mistake again.

I just tried one of those and it clearly prints through the lining of your pocket. Unless your wearing these you might as well go with the 238
>>
>>29794513
When I'm teaching I'll sometimes wear slacks, but usually wear my jeans with pride.

I love showing up with a belt buckle and watching their heads 360
>>
>>29794225
>>29795660
I have massive hands, so the LCP and similar don't work to well. My dads LCP is awful to fire.
>>
>>29795842
Get mag extension and use Ruger ARX ammo.
>>
>>29795865
That's not the bad part really, I mean it's bad, but the worst part is the trigger guard slamming into my finger when I shoot. I also would prefer 9mm over .380
>>
>>29795606
how'd you get your job as a TA?

i want some of that sweet university minimum wage while i do this master's thing, well, if i pass my classes this semester
>>
>>29795978
It was offered after I was accepted for grad school. If you're engineering, physics, or chemistry then you'll most likely get the same as long as you plan on attending a large university. In our department we need lots of hands who at least know the basics of what they're doing so they often get employed to teach labs and stuff.

There's also RA positions but nobody at any school really has a chance in hell of getting one unless you TA first. You pretty much need to be on PhD track to get an RA position early but even then you'll still have to teach for a year or two.
>>
>>29796099
fuck

I'm a CIS grad student so I don't think that's happening. Damn. I should have decided earlier on the master's deal since I could have had a research assistant position.
>>
>>29795978
it's also not minimum wage. I get paid ~$22/hr. But like all university here in Texas we're limited to 20hr weeks.
>>
>>29796119
Dude I make $0/hr right now, I would kill just to do the shitty IT help desk on campus for $7.50/hr if they were hiring.
>>
>>29795620
isn't that illegal
>>
>>29796134
They will be shortly. Every campus opens up positions right around now so get to it. Just expect to work at some help desk or something at first. Most of the time IT's at different unis spread their work out working callouts to help 65 year old professors plug in their router and then work at a help desk the rest of the time.

I would check with every department at your school. Most of the time they all have their own helpdesk to keep things consolidated.
>>
>>29796176
My uni actually has a online job board, I keep tabs on it but unfortunately they don't have much on offer.

Though I'm not sure if I should keep looking if I fail my AI class, if I fail that then I'm dropping out to look for a real job if I can even find one around me. Might have to move from Georgia to Texas or something. There's practically nothing here.
>>
>>29796154
why would that be illegal?
>>
>>29796336
a wallet holster is fine, but a wallet holster with a trigger hole is not. it will be considered as an any other weapon (aow) under NFA.
>>
>>29796119
Another Texan (undergraduate) TA here: I get paid $11 an hour for a 10 hours a week, but the professor only assigns around 3 hours of actual work and 3 hours of attending lecture/holding office hours. It's a pretty sweet gig.

apparently only on some. Cabelas was selling out in the aisle for $40. I have doubts it requires NFA stamp.

Regardless it's another pants on head retarded gun law that serves no purpose.
>>
G42. A big 380, sure, but that makes it very shootable. Super easy to conceal.

My 2 cents
>>
>>29793265
Honestly, either keep in your bag or get a holster for your lower back and wear thick clothing every day.
>>
Have a look at the Medina holster by Cherries tactical.
>>
>>29795606
>>29795620
No offense but that looks awkward.

My advice is to get used to it, and practice drawing and such. Maybe get a friend to help you see how easy it is to spot your gun, and or disarm you.

OC a Desert Eagle in a race holster to assert dominance.

Literally can't even imagine. I fucked a tinder chick who is a "consent counselor" there a few years back; told me it would be rape if we had sex while drunk but guess what happened?

Ruger LCR has been my daily carry for a little over a year now. I've had no problems concealing it, in a variety of manners. Pants or jacket pockets, both front and back, IWB, OWB, deep concealment holsters like the urban carry. It's super light, comfortable to carry and shoot and you can pack a solid punch. They've got them in .38(My caliber of choice, being the lightest of the larger calibers, at about 13 ounces), .357 magnum(a little heavier, around 17 ounces as it has a beefier cylinder and steel upper frame), 9mm(built on the same .357 frame, pretty snappy shooter too), .327 Federal mag(6 shots instead of 5, no experience with this round though. Heard lots of good about it. I believe it'll also feed .32 H&R mag), and .22 long rifle and .22 magnum offerings. Variety of grips and sights, so you can set it up to your liking. Personally, I'm in love with it. I've carried an SP101, M&P9c, M&P Shield and a Colt Defender and I wouldn't trade my LCR for any of them. I have yet to find a more carriable and shootable package.
