What is the oldest magazine fed rifle? I think its the lee enfield no 1 mk3. While it is set up to be loaded by stripper clip it can also be mag fed.

Even the Spencer had a magazine dude.

Earliest I can think of is the Jennings Magazine Rifle. However there were also harmonica guns and all sorts of other guns with things that could be considered magazines.

Would a revolver cylinder count as a magazine?

The Girandoni air rifle had a magazine in 1780.
>>
>>29789627
No need to samefag bruv
>>
>>29789643
Lewis & Clarke literally acquired peace through superior firepower as they traveled through inhospitable Indian territory and demonstrated their Girandoni air rifle to the local indians.

My question is, how the hell did they charge that thing back then? Dump some powder into the tank and light it?

Would that even work well? Dangerous obviously, but might be a worthwhile way to get a full tank of air.
>dump powder into special powder gate, seal it back up
>use detonating hammer to ignite the BP
>hope for a full tank of air and no kaboom

Probably the 1879 Lee, a distant predecessor to the Lee-Enfield. The US Navy actually acquired a few of them in the 1880s, I believe.
>>
>>29789643

Got any details? Those yours?

The swiss Langgewehr 1889 had a detachable 12 round mag.
