Went up against 8-10 Taliban fighters, no way they should have taken on a force that size with at least a CSG, or at minimum an armored unit nearby.

Navy got off their boats.
Didn't maintain the grooming standard, so their defensive posture was weakened.
SEALs wanted something to make a movie about and got trashed (still got the movie though)

US infantry think they are rambo, that they don't need heavy weapons or vehicles.
That helicopters don't announce their position & cause them to be ambushed, that they aren't easily shot down by any competent force, etc
It's the same sort of cluster fuck that the US has got into since korea, its why they can't win wars.
They will never admit that their narcissism & egotism is the cause of it.
