That's about what they go for, especially if it was an older one. More common price is going to be in the low $500's for the .40 and the .45 - not the 9mm, those go for about $150 more.

Damn, was just telling my buddy an hour ago how much I regret selling my USP .45. Objectively i liked my glock 21's more (regret selling those too), but there was just something about the feel, balance, and aesthetics of that USP with a respectable 12+1 at the ready. Not shooting much .45 ACP was a stupid reason to sell.

The .40 and .45 models can easily be had for glock money in the online used market.
The 9mm versions are harder to find overall, and are (as i think you mentioned) more expensive as a result.

Yes. I still kick myself that I didn't figure out their "Make an Offer/Price Match Request" feature sooner. I recently bought a new Sig P239 for $687 through the price match request system, and all I wrote in the dealer field was "local gun dealer." They didn't verify it or anything. I wish I'd done the same when I bought my USP instead of paying close to $900.
Among the $600+ WASRs on Armslist, I saw a Maadi for $400. I waited too long to buy it.
A guy was selling a Smith and Wesson 2213 locally and he only wanted $275. These guns go for $500-600 on Gunbroker...when you can even find them. They are very rare and very cool. Imagine a Silencerco Sparrow connected to the front of this thing. The guy lived about 50 minutes away and listed the gun late at night, so part of me didn't want to bother and another part of me thought that even if I did drive out there early the next day, the gun might be sold by the time I got to him. I'm still kicking myself over it.

For some things (guitars, electronics), yes. Guns hold their value a lot better, though. Used gun prices can vary by manufacturer, model, caliber, etc., but you're typically looking for a resale value anywhere from 60 to 90% of MSRP. Same goes for some camera equipment (Canon L lenses, for example). Different markets, different products.
