That's about what they go for, especially if it was an older one. More common price is going to be in the low $500's for the .40 and the .45 - not the 9mm, those go for about $150 more.

Aren't HKs made in China?

>>29763512
Damn, was just telling my buddy an hour ago how much I regret selling my USP .45. Objectively i liked my glock 21's more (regret selling those too), but there was just something about the feel, balance, and aesthetics of that USP with a respectable 12+1 at the ready. Not shooting much .45 ACP was a stupid reason to sell.

Rofl....i remember when i was in middle school and was obsessed with HK, i begged my dad to get me an HK tshirt. He did, nothing crazy, just a white t that had the logo over the left breast and on the back it said "In a world of compromise, some dont."

Well, i wore it to school one day and got pulled out of the cafeteria during lunch and told i had to turn my shirt inside out by the vice principal. I didnt understand at the time, i was like 12, but i was crushed. Maybe she was just a walther gal :)

that's why I sometimes impulse buy.

one impulse buy I don't regret was a $75 Romanian carbine nugget. was pitted on the exterior, barrel was fine, and the stock was cracked and rotting. refinished it and got a new stock, and now its breddy gud.

Yes. Here are a couple USPs that sold in my area recently. $500 and $550 ASKING. The selling price was almost certainly $20-50 less than that.

Here are some USPs that sold on Gunbroker recently. $475, $447, and $449 - and the $449 one was a relist. These guns are neither scarce, valuable, nor desirable.

I saw a .40 USP in a brick and mortar for $400 for christ's sake.

The .40 and .45 models can easily be had for glock money in the online used market.

The 9mm versions are harder to find overall, and are (as i think you mentioned) more expensive as a result.

Still, you can buy USP9's brand new on Bud's for less than a middle of the road 1911, even. I got one NIB for 780 just recently.

>Still, you can buy USP9's brand new on Bud's for less than a middle of the road 1911, even. I got one NIB for 780 just recently.
Yes. I still kick myself that I didn't figure out their "Make an Offer/Price Match Request" feature sooner. I recently bought a new Sig P239 for $687 through the price match request system, and all I wrote in the dealer field was "local gun dealer." They didn't verify it or anything. I wish I'd done the same when I bought my USP instead of paying close to $900.
>>
Among the $600+ WASRs on Armslist, I saw a Maadi for $400. I waited too long to buy it.
>>
A guy was selling a Smith and Wesson 2213 locally and he only wanted $275. These guns go for $500-600 on Gunbroker...when you can even find them. They are very rare and very cool. Imagine a Silencerco Sparrow connected to the front of this thing. The guy lived about 50 minutes away and listed the gun late at night, so part of me didn't want to bother and another part of me thought that even if I did drive out there early the next day, the gun might be sold by the time I got to him. I'm still kicking myself over it.

I'd be suspicious that a Glock 29 offered for $400 was stolen. There's absolutely no reason to sell one of those for that little.

The barrel is already threaded, just with the wrong kind of threads - it attaches to the frame via a barrel nut at the end. You just need an adapter, which is available online for about $25.
>>
>>29768895
>First bid is set at the reserve

How do you know that? They don't say the reserve. That would defeat the purpose. The reserve could be something retarded like $800 for all we know.

Personally, I think the USP that just listed will sell in the $575 range due to the condition, but the fact is immaterial, since multiple examples of completed auctions were posted earlier. Stop arguing about something this stupid.
>>
>>29768916
Yes, I do. I've been screwed by cocksuckers misusing the reserve system before.

There's a whole mini-segment of sellers who start bidding at something like $1 to attract bidders but set a reserve super high. It's not an uncommon thing.

>>
>>29769017
I don't know what you're complaining about. That fuck up is entirely on you. If you want to buy guns from a man for that cheap, then you need to give his schedule and convenience utmost consideration. He has no reason to do an hour of driving to sell them to you when he could sell them to anyone else willing to pick them up locally.
>>
>>29768091
>"They're not desirable!"
>finds a bunch of them sold very recently

If you don't like them thats fine but don't pretend that nobody wants one.
>>
>>29769081
I find a lot of Glock 22's that sell for as low as $400 regularly, yet the Glock 19's sell in the $450-475 range, even though they have the same retail price when new. The gigantic loss in value is an indicator that people don't want to buy the gun that badly, but will settle for it if the price is low enough.
>>
>>29769100
Yeah, this. The market is flooded with cheap Glock 22s and 23s right now since police and civilians alike are shedding them. A lot are selling, too. Doesn't mean they're desirable, it means they're cheap and plentiful and people buy cheap stuff.
>>
>>29769017
You fucked up.
>>
>>29769100
To add onto this, the times when I've actually tried selling handguns in unusual calibers (P239 in .357 Sig and Walther PPX in .40), they generally have taken a lot longer to sell, and I got fewer offers despite my lowered price, than when I've sold handguns chambered for 9mm.

Isn't rule of thumb for used (not recent) items are half the MSRP or what you paid?

Seems like in the ballpark
>>
>>29769643
nigga wat

MSRP on a Glock is, well, actuall sort of hard to find "MSRP". However, MAP on standard guns is like $539, retail something like $550

Getting a Glock for 270 dollars is a screaming deal, which you wont get even on leo trade in on something dumbfuck like a .45 GAP Gun
>>
>>29769723
I seen used glock go for $300
>>
>>29769738
protip that is for a gen 2 17

you aren't going to find a gen 3 for 300 dollars unless, as mentioned, some dumb fuck who bought a Glock 39 is trying to offload it

and if you want a range gun, nothing wrong with gen 2, but if it is something youre ever going to carry, or just in terms of resale value, an accessory rail is sort of a big deal.

Thats like saying you found a great deal on a 2wd 4runner

"Rule of thumb" for used guns is definitely not half MSRP
>>
>>29769643
>Isn't rule of thumb for used (not recent) items are half the MSRP or what you paid?

For some things (guitars, electronics), yes. Guns hold their value a lot better, though. Used gun prices can vary by manufacturer, model, caliber, etc., but you're typically looking for a resale value anywhere from 60 to 90% of MSRP. Same goes for some camera equipment (Canon L lenses, for example). Different markets, different products.

HE is the one that refused to drive to a gun shop that was a half hour away from his location.

I was going to drive over 2 hours one way but didnt get off of work until 5pm and the gun shop he reccomended closed at 7pm, so there literally wasn't enough time for me to get there.

I found a place open until 9pm that was just a few minutes further from where he had suggested and he claimed he made a deal with someone else.
