let's talk gun safety in the military
can you name four (4) ways a soldier can prevent firearm related accidents on the job?
webm related
-Don't give the solider a firearm in the first place
-Remove the firing pin, hammer and recoil spring before you give them a firearm
-Only give them inert ammunition
-Add a helpful label on the muzzle stating 'this end towards enemy'
does this question show up on the ASVAB? I need to know if I should study for it

>can you name four (4) ways a soldier can prevent firearm related accidents on the job?
I only know one
>remember to have the safety on your M9 before engaging in a quickdraw duel with a buddy
>>29732699
really I think they should unload the fucking firearm before doing that
isn't the esprit de corps shit with the twirling and throwing of rifles just asking for something to go wrong?
I mean, you could scrape a perfect garand or you could carve someones face in.
>>29732710
>being this much of a pussy
real men do quickdraw stunts with the gun loaded and hammer cocked.
>>29732617
Fun quick aside.
I went to a couple of fun stores to find my first rifle and I was barrel swept multiple times by multiple employees.
>>29732737
real men get shot doing idiotic bullshit
>>29732730
honestly I wish they'd use wood gripped ARs instead of m1s or boltguns that are probably collectors items
>>29732740
I've never had that happen because all the gun stores in my area require the counter people to carry
t. lives in a nofun state where gun ownership is serious business
>>29732742
no pain no gain
also NDs can't happen if the safety is on
>>29732740
I've been barrel swept by more obviously unloaded firearms than I can count. It's really not a big deal.
>>29732742
>he doesn't accidentally shoots himself from time to time
This sorta parade shit should be abolished
>>29732617
>that mid-stride stop the DI does
>>29732858
parades are the best part about being in the military though, if you disagree you are probably an anorexic liberal
>>29732617
1) Always treat a gun as if it's loaded
2) Never point a gun at something you don't intend to destroy/kill
3) Finger off the trigger until your sights are aligned on the target and you are ready to shoot
4) Always be aware of your target and what is beyond your target
>>29732617
When you ND in the military it is not safe to say "OOPS."
>>29732617
make them carry condition 3 until allah snackbar is shooting at them.
>>29732873
Dude I clenched and froze just watching it.
>>29732916
Your fourth rule is the unofficial fifth rule. But OP said 4, so you booted keep weapon on safe until ready to fire?
>>29733944
>my finger is the safety
>>29732873
i thought he would punch that guy
Treat every weapon as if it were loaded
Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
Keep your finger Straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire
Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire
Bonus: Know your target and what lies beyond it and between it
Keep them away from alcohol and women?
