Stick the barrel into your rectum

buy a copy of Larry Ruth's owner's guide. it's a pretty concise resource.

if you're doing it as a collector's thing it has a ton of historical information too.
>>
>>29712751
lol you sure wrecked'em anon
>>
>>29712792
I'll be using it for strictly recreational target shooting which is pretty much all I do. Ill look into that guide, thanks.
>>
Please keep in mind that this is a pistol caliber carbine and that it's questionable at 75 yards. Ruger even makes a .30 carbine revolver if you don't believe me. Would be good for close range varmint control but there's a lot more capable milsurp that you could buy for that price range.
>>
>keeping it iron sight

What else would you do with it you hack
>>
>>29712751

My grandfather gave me one that was made by Universal. I don't know if that was the one he used to kill nips or if he got it after the war.
>>
>>29712751
I would buy the new ones made by Inland if you want one strictly for a shooter.
>>
>>29712935
>Universal
He may have killed a jap with it but it would have been in a convenience store or a gas station. They were not GI carbines.
>>
>>29712952
+10
They are well made. Fingered one on commercial row at Camp Perry last year.
>>
>>29712952
Why? You can get a legit GI carbine for cheaper.
>>
>>29712907
Ya butthole. Im new to guns. Thats why I am asking questions. Go back to /b/ and fap to traps.
>>
>>29712952
Inland, ill check it out. Thanks

CMP still sells them on the auction site. But they are all pricey one-of types.
>>
>>29713012
Those are IBM and Winchester BTW.
>>
>tfw no M2 carbines
>>
>>29712893
it was a rifle cartridge first.

Admittedly, a small one.

But calling it a pistol caliber carbine is rather deceptive.
>>
>>29713058
What museum is that? Do you know?
>>
>>29712751

get a Marlin Camp Carbine instead, 9mm or .45 are both better than that 30 cal
>>
>>29712960

I thought I had heard something like that once upon a time. We had spent a long stint stateside training the new meat, but I don't know if he had a carbine at that point. I know he did use one when he was at Bougainville and wherever else. He was in the Americal division. One of the few army units in the Pacific.
>>
>>29713081

also they take 33 round s&w magazines for 9mm...
>>
>>29713062

I know that technically it's a rifle cartridge but if you compare it to a pistol caliber lever action their capabilities are almost identical excluding the action type.

Nearly identical to a .357 level action. Both are straight walled .30 caliber cartridges
>>
>>29712984
Those are collectors items now.

That was Universal's thing. Build carbines to sell to returning GIs because the were fond of them. Marlin did the same thing with there .22s. Made them look like carbines so they would be attractive to returning GIs. Pic related.

Pick one, cunt

my gramps grabbed one in vietnam and brought it back <3

Diameter 308
Diameter 358

I mean, there is fifty thousands of difference in bullet size, generally substantial bullet weight differences, and a noticeable length difference.

But sure, they are the same.

I understand your point. The ruger 30 carb pistols are 100% excellent, and 200% loud, but there is a substantial difference in both dimensions and performance between 30 carbine and 357 mag. It is a small intermediate rifle round, through and through.

.050 times pi as far as circumference and that's a hell of a size difference.
>>
>>29713167

Sorry about your twisted panties, /k/omrad. My understanding wad that there were only a few army divisions in the Pacific that saw combat.

GI or Inland. Get this >>29712893

Cool story. Friends Gramp was a Marine in pacific theater. Marines took islands, army held them and built air fields. Marines issued 1903 rifles. Army issued M1 Garands. There were weeks when Marines and Army were on island together. Marines would hang out around latrines, and when a soldier went into latrine and left his Garand propped outside the shitter, Marines would swap rifles.
>>
Good luck, there's alot of fakes, and old assholes trying to maximize profit on their carbines. Get an Inland if you are going to get one.
>>
>>29713058
You can build one.
>>
>>29713369

Sounds about right. My grandfather didn't talk about it much but he did mention how you had to put a few rounds into the trees when you woke up in the morning or started your advance. Near the end he talked about "fishing" by tossing grenades into ponds, but he was half senile by then.

He did carry his hated for the Japs to his grave, though.

Keep in mind as well that .30 carbine has more energy at 100 yards than .357 does at the muzzle
