I wanna make brass, but idk if its even possible for me to do. what exactly goes into making brass? is there a way it could be done so one doesn't have to buy it from a factory?

You'll need to look up the steps to progressively stamp metal. You'll also need to look up the metallurgy of the brass you are buying to know when to anneal it to prevent cracks from work hardening.
Much math and 3D CAD drawings will be needed. But it could be a fun and lucrative project.

Buy brass strip. Run through home made blanking, cupping, drawing, and necking dies, punch primer pocket, cut extractor groove.
For one shell at a time you can use a small lever operated press even.

For .22 and other small rimfire sure.
Anything bigger will need a pretty hefty swaging press.
