I'm looking to get one of these within the next 2 months and was curious if anyone could help me sway more to one or the other. It wouldn't be a ccw except in winter months, and does have the possibility of being an EDC

Stock? SP101

After a much needed trigger job? GP100

The latter has a 12lb pull if fired via double action if I'm not mistaken.

>does have the possibility of being an EDC
SP101. The GP is way to big and heavy for concealed carry. But it is a great gun.
>>
OP here......yes it would be stock and damn I didn't know it had that much of a trigger pull. Then again that pick above is pretty sexy.

EDC? Sp101

How does the grip feel on the sp101? Does it handle the heavier magnums of .357 well?
>>
>>29586592
Feels good. Could be a little bigger, but I have large hands. It handles .357 fine.

I own a sp101 and i use to own a gp100 trust me trying to ccw a gp100 would be a lot they weigh like 40z.
>>
>>29586476
The sp101 and the gp100 have the same triggers and most of the other components. The gp is just a larger frame for the same gun.
>>
Is there any real difference between a 3 or 4 inch barrel? What all does it effect in terms of accuracy, sight, and velocity?

Nope. Please look up the Ruger part numbers and get back to me.
>>
>>29586426
Good luck CC-ing a GP100, but it's a better gun in pretty much every regard. The SP101 is unpleasant to shoot with hot .357 loads, and its DA pull (which is fuck-heavy on its own) is goddamn awful with the smaller grip

It's right in the middle between the sp101 and gp100. Sigh I wish ruger would re introduce these. So I can buy a brand new one.

I wish I ha bought an SP101with the 3in barrel, but they didn't have one in the shop on my 21st. Shame because this year they're putting out SP101s with actual sights.

Are they not going too be carrying ones without adjustable sights?
>>
>>29586426

You need to handle them both. They have very, very different ergonomics. The GP100 is fucking huge.

Where did it go so wrong?
>>
>>29593264
Ruger has become too popular for their own good.
My P95 is perfect, but my friend went through 2 SR-22's in a week.
First one had a faulty ejector spring, the second one came without an ejector spring...

Gemini Customs SP101

For real though, between the two get an SP101. Otherwise get a GP100.

I regret that but have too much ammo investment and am on shoestring as it is... do you have the plum DC model? Loved that color and no safety.
