I wouldn't sporterize it, it was all a ruse. Rifles like the Mauser I would never do anything to as I respect their historical value. I love being able to go into a store and find a rifle that you know some Kraut killed people with during the Great War and while the Kraut is long dead the rifle is still just the same as it was. People who bubba up old guns should be shot.

I don't think that's the same one. The gun library and the rack outside of it are different. I checked the gun library website before I went in and everything I saw online as in the actual library room. Everything outside of it I did not see on the website, including the Mauser.

probably a Yugo capture, not to be confused with the M48 a Yugo capture k98 is a standard German k98 with the manufacturer's mark ground off and replaced with a pretty cool (in my opinion) Yugoslavian crest. It's a good deal and would recommend buying one.
