How do I get Innawoods to work on the iPhone

The app was taken off the apple store along with a shitload of other apps that had guns in them correct? If I remember correctly that's why a lot of apples disappeared. (Android master race)

Opinions on the Hi-Point Carbine.

It'll probably be months before I get my NJ pistol back, with no good reason, so I think I might just get a cheap carbine.
>>
>>29583894
Total newbie, just bought a .9mm. Cleaned it.

Going to go shoot it this Saturday for the first time.

What is the maximum number of bullets I can fire? 100? 150?
>>
>>29588076
As much as your wallet or supply of ammo lets you.
>>
>>29588017

Not nearly as ugly and awkward as the pistols.

You pull the trigger, they go bang.

If you just want something for plinking, not bad.

If you want something for home defense, and can't wait until you have money for something better, you could probably do worse, but you could still probably do better too...
>>
>>29588110
I mean, I don't want to damage it by overheating it.

Is there something I should watch out for to know when to stop? Bullets are crazy cheap so that won't be a problem.
>>
>>29588017
They're pretty fun. The tiny ass mag gets annoying quick though, and don't expect the cheap ass plastic rails to be useful for anything important.
>>
>>29588076
I would stop at around 300 if it was the dirtiest cheapest ammo i could get.

Even if you don't clean it. it's not going to explode. It could just fail to extract/feed/cycle. but it also may run just fine even really dirty.
>>
>>29588158

You're not going to damage it by overheating it lol.
>>
>>29588158
if it's plastic. And you start smelling burning plastic. Take a break.
>>
>>29588142

If it weren't NJ I'd certainly have way better choices.

In this scenario, mostly waiting for pistol, I'm looking at either some carbine or a shotgun. My thoughts specifically were the hi-point like I said for carbine, or maybe an Ithaca for a shotgun. Something other than my Garand with no place to shoot it, and the shotguns from my grandfather and great-grandfather.

>>29588230
That's fine, even a well maintained weapon will start having issues when you fire enough rounds through it without cleaning it. Just familiarize yourself with how to disassemble and clean your weapon, and always do it when you finish shooting. Keep your gun safety in mind and make sure the weapon is clear before you leave the range/take it apart/anything other than shoot it.
>>
>>29588017
Solid and good for what they are, a cheap, oddly reliable space gun looking carbine. I recommend it.

I just got a probably new single stack Russian commercial make, and its covered in light to light-medium rust everywhere. I think it was just sitting up dry for too long and hadn't been touched for a few years. detail stripped it and went to work with some rags, shop towels, oil, and finally doused it in rust preventative. >>
>>29592761
They are a half measure. If you primarily use the red dot, the magnifier is a "better than nothing" backup.

I don't like them though. I still think the best and easiest way to go for a general purpose rifle is a fixed 3-4x with an illuminated reticle. The TA31 is to me, just right. If you primarily use the rifle longer range with a high magnification long scope on it, a piggyback micro optic works fairly ok.

I'm not a fan of 1x-? variable scopes because almost none of them are true 1x anyway and you don't get infinite eye relief with them, so really they are IMO as disorienting as looking through a magnified scope when doing it quickly. They are also larger than a compact ACOG. I like variable scopes that start at medium magnification and go high.

I live in Southeast Oklahoma. What's some good camo I can use? Every outdoor forum asking this question is met with fudds saying all you need is denim jeans and a plaid jacket, or some retarded camo like trees which would not work inna plains/field especially during the winter/fall. The reason why is because I'm looking for good bugout clothes when aftatornado if I have to leave my house and retreat to the woods until shit calms down. I don't want to head innawoods if that happens just if it's my last option. Plus it gets rainy and I would like to have it around just in case.

I live in the red river plains area which is made up of plains, woods, and it gets gray af in the winter/fall time. So something light in colour would be good, but not too light like desert fox. I have no clue where to start with camo and hoping my bros will help me out.

Just make sure you clean the barrel and chamber before firing through a new barrel.

There is absolutely metal shavings and dirt/oil bullshit in there.

I'm on cleaning after the 3rd round fired at the moment, no malfunctions or issues detected with the brass.

I was surprised it still cycled with a heavy spring and H3 buffer (ejected case dropped a few inches from the rifle ofc).

so i ordered a .22lr conversion kit for one of my handguns and went out to Cabelas yesterday to get a couple boxes of cheap plinking ammo to break the thing in.

when i got there i found a whole wall of nondescript $8-12 boxes of 50 and soon realized i had no idea what i was getting myself into. most were made by the same company (Eley from Bongistan) and give zero information about their grain weight, velocity, application etc besides their one-word name.

i ended up walking out with these boxes and more questions than answers. does it even matter for .22 or should i always go for the cheapest junk out there? also whats with the wax coatings on the rounds? i usually shoot 5.56 and 10mm but .22 of all things is oddly new to me.
>>
>>29617222
Eley is competition match ammunition. Should be good for just about anything.

I think their loads/bullet weights are a trade secret though so they don't mark them.
>>
Alright /k/ weigh in. Want a Smith 357 for open carry innawoods. Considering the 586, 66 or saving my shekels for the r8. All new.

Help me decide. Also if I'm an idiot for considering new let me know what to get instead. 4-5" barrel. Already got a ruger.

cause it's quite cheap, however I don't know how trustworthy the site is or the manufacturer.

Also what is (semi-objectively) the best 9mm ammo to get? I want clean powder, reliable primers, and good quality brass (or steel if need be).

Hopefully the thread is still active.
I'm in Aus and have been writing a few articles for some guys in regards to firearms, crime rate, who uses guns etc etc. All so far just to do with Australia.
Now I'm up to where I want to branch out and talk about the US (as our media always talks about it in a bad way) and also about firearms for home defense (since that is illegal in Aus) and whether or not it works.
My question is, where would I find stats, case studies etc relating to that in the US? Everytime I google something related to guns for home defence the first few pages are more towards actual guns, not studies and such.

Thanks in advance. If anyone wants the articles I've written so far, just ask, I'd be happy to send them.
>>
>>29621696
Where are you? First stop guns in rapid city had one for 350 when I was in there last. So long as you're of age they'll sell you anything.
>>
>>29623875
What you looming for in particular aus-friend? What firearms are used for home defence? Firearm related deaths? There have been plenty of studies on the latter, and I'd try to list more options, but am pretty drunk.
>>
>>29623931
Not so much *what* firearms are used in home defence, but rather whether or not allowing people to use guns for defence works, if that makes sense?
I know some states do or do not allow it, so if there is somewhere that compares the states? Like number of home invasions, number of home invasions stopped or not stopped by guns, rapes maybe?
It may be easy to find, but for example Aus has the Australian institute of statistics, just wondering what the US version would be or who releases information like this.

The second part of the article will be a quick overview, of how the massacres are 1% of deaths, gun violence is mostly gang on gang etc etc.

Literally the entire world and their mothers make holsters for a glock 19. What are you going to do? Conceal it? Are you looking for retention? Leather? Kydex? Is a light attached?

I like Kydex personally especially since that's really the only way to go with a weaponlight and I'm autistic about having lights on every gun. T-Rex Arms and Blade Tech are both awesome. Bravo Concealment is really high quality but I haven't had much luck with them. Raven Concealment makes high quality stuff although to be honest I have only ever tried their VG2, never the OWB holsters.

Start with Blade Tech and move through the list from there.

So I'm new to bows, and by extension, archery.

I'm just starting to hear about something called "draw weight," and how it affects how the arrow flies.

Seeing as it's called draw WEIGHT, and it's measured in pounds, does the number represent what pulling the bowstring feels like? So if you have a bow with 30-pound draw weight, it'll feel like you're holding 30 pounds when you pull?
>>
>>29624326
Also, when a bow is left- or right- handed, is it referring to the hand that's holding the bow, or the hand that's pulling the string?

Hey /k/, i want to get a Remington 870 and i need some help. I want a relatively shortish barrel, maybe 24", and i want the magazine tube to be the same length for maximum capacity. What do you guys recommend, trying to find some model they already make (which ive been having a hard time with) or just buying one with the barrel length i want and buying a mag extension?
>>
>>29627397
Id say .380 is the smallest id go due to the fact that they make some pretty small compacts in .380, and going any lower for the sole purpose of more concealibility is pointless imo. I personally prefer 9mm because i already have a bunch of the ammo, so id rather my carry gun shoot the same shit.
Now between not carrying and .40 s&w, id obviously carry even though id have to buy an entirely new caliber, but its better than nothing i guess.

>>
>>29624959
I second this one hard core. During the Sandy Vagina scare I was able to trade a Bushmaster M4 for a nice Springfield Garand made in 52 as a straight deal.

I've had a Sig P226 X-Five Tactical which is similar to that gun. While they are nice, they will always be made so it's like trading a 69 Chevy Camaro SS for a 2007 Corvette. I mean the Corvette is nice and all but they will keep making that variation for a long ass time.

So don't trade a Garand for a Sig. They're not bad guns but they are still in production.

Honest question about legality.

>two years ago...ish
>going to brick and mortar university
>get call that my stripped AR lower just came in that morning and is ready for pickup
>tell them I'll be there after first class ends
>pick up receiver
>don't have time to go home and drop it off
>don't trust my parking lot for SHIT (rapes, abductions, and shootings have happened in this semester alone and during broad daylight)
>stuff lower receiver in backpack and go to afternoon classes
>extremely self conscious of "gun" carried "concealed" for the rest of the day

If I were caught, for some unholy reason like emptying my backpack to find some stupid pen or something, would I have been arrested for illegal weapons concealment and all the other felony bullshit about schools and guns? Or would this have been "well, next time just leave it at home/inacar/somewhere else before coming to class"?

It's bothered me for a long time and I don't have a base of conclusion to say whether or not I committed a felony.

No, there were no other parts to the AR anywhere near me or my backpack, no ammo, and no mags. If that helps.

.300 Win Mag is probably the cheapest. It's the most common in the US, for sure. You're still looking at a buck a pop.

>>29599973
It depends on what kind of platform you're using and if you have a vertical/angled grip up front. With a vert grip an inline mount is good, and with an angled grip or no grip an offset mount is good. If you're going to use a pressure switch (probably a good idea unless you've got a nice angled Inforce), mount the light on the side facing away from you when you hold the rifle with both hands.

The R8 is a chunk, even though it's scandium. If you want something for carry but don't expect to shoot lots and lots of hot .357s out of it, the M66 is where it's at, and the new ones have shrouded barrels (think Dan Wesson). The 586 is sort of in between (heavier but will never crack after tons of hot .357s).

I was planning on ordering the Lone Wolf G9 lower if I went that route. The total expense wouldn't bother me too much either since I could space out parts and such. Did you go with rifle or did you build a pistol? I kind of want to build a pistol and apply for a SBR eventually to just throw a stock on there. I know about the 'arm braces' I just still have handled one and am not sure how well they work.

Hey /k/, long time lurker, first time poster here.
So I got my first rifle a while ago, a used Romanian m1969. After putting a few rounds through it today, I noticed that the spent casings had little uniform bulges next to their rims on the lower side, where the rounds were between the feed ramp and the chamber. I checked the bolt face and found a very small amount of black residue where it would meet the bottom part of the round's backside, though I stupidly wiped it off before considering taking a picture. Is this anything to worry about? It's only a .22, so I probably don't have to worry about the gun violently exploding or anything, but I thought it would be a good idea to ask.
Sorry for any ignorance on my end.

I bought mine back in November for $189 at Academy. Give it a while and wait for the price to drop to less than $200.

There was once a download/torrent link in /k/ that was basically a huge infodump. Is that still available somewhere?

I've got an old shotgun I've been trying to sell online for a few months, and I've only had one guy show interest in it before backing off.

I've also got around $120 in cabelas gift cards.

Should I bring the shotgun to cabelas and trade it + gift cards on guns/ammo?
