I've been wondering for ages what this carving in the stock of my Romy SKS means, possibly initials or something. Anyone here Romanian or speak it? To me it looks like a "L" and "K" and possibly a "T" in English, I don't know what it could be in Russian as there's no L in Cyrillic.
Just taking a shot in the dark here, any info is welcome.
General stock carvings thread because why not, I've seen some badass German and Serbian stock carvings.
I'll upload more pics if necessary, sorry the stock is all beat and scratched to shit, I don't want to restore it.

actually Anon, these markings show that this rifle (or at least the stock) is a rare Soviet firing port-version of the SKS designed for use in the "Лyнный кopaбль" capsule. Very rare find you have there, good luck with it.

I'm Romanian and speak it but I know nothing about our rifles. We don't really use "K" in our alphabet for any words other than stuff like kilogram or foreign words. It doesn't really occur in peoples' last names either unless it's a Hungarian name, e.g. Laszlo Kovacs. Could have been a previous American owner. Where'd you get it?

At a gun show, the guys name didn't have an L or K in it, and he said it just sat it his safe for years, still had cosmo on it. He got it from a shipment of them, I would assume directly from Romania.

They're not lmao, I bought it because it's cheap and reliable, and so I can share ammo with my father and his AK. SKS' used to be really popular because they could be had for $90 and they're just as accurate, reliable, and sturdy as an AK, now being $400+ they're not too popular unless you've already got one. Romanian ones even more so because they're more uncommon, but still not a bragging gun. No offense m8, I still love mine, you guys make a quality gun.
