Are the Glock "Feldmesser" any good?
They seem to be solid made and the austrian army use them.
But the low price make me concerned
>>29582645
knife is fine
>>29582645
For stabby stabby and light cutting? Yes. What do you want the knife for? Camping? Bushcraft? Collectiblility?
>>29582645
Work fine, but it's long term use is questionable if you don't know how to sharpen a knife since the edge it comes with isn't particularly sharp and it loses that rather quickly.
>>29582798
I want a knife take it with me when im camping in the woods mostly for simple tasks but also for self defense in emergency
>>29582645
I like mine alright
>>29582847
will serve well
>>29582847
Well then there are better options out there. As >>29582829 said, doesn't hold an edge super well.
>>29582645
Have you heard of Moras?
You should totally look into Moras.
Why get Glock knives when you can get the Glock of knives?
Works well enough for me and I treat it like shit. From digging cutting around roots in the field, to slicing cordage and shit. Just buy a cheap 'lil sharpener if you are serious about an edge you can shave with.
>>29582645
They are good in a military capacity.
Cheap
Doesn't take a bunch of room on belt
Tough enough for use as a prybar on crates
you could stab someone if you had too.
Most likely will never be used ever.
Can open a bottle.
Secures well to gear, very secure sheath will never drop knife.
Overall, shitty edge with terrible angles, low QC (I have one that is curved slightly).
Related, but how are SOG knives?
>>29584465
Decent blade steel, generally dumb designs.
Some of the standouts that are pretty good are the Seal Pup and Trident.

Is this knife to Glock what the Apple Watch is to Apple? Something that brand-loyal fanboys have to justify purchasing to everyone around them?
>>29582967
>glock of knives
What, does it explode when you stab someone with it?
>>29582645
They're decent. Here's mine. I beat the shit out of it.
>>29584534
Have seal pup. Confirmed for Stronk. Takes beating well
>>29582645
It's a great bottle opener, and throwing knife.
>>29582645
Good truck knife. Mine didn't hold a sharp edge well but it is pretty damn sturdy and well balanced
w2c?
>>29586915
No, these are legit military field knives
They are bayonets and have all the drawbacks of a bayonet but for the price they make good beaters
>>29582645
For the price they're pretty decent.
I have at least 3 of them. I use 2 of them mainly. I am trying to break them. I use them as a pry bar, hit the spine of the blade with a hammer, poke it into a wall and smack it into the wall with a hammer. Cut tree roots from the ground, throw it into trees. It just won't break. I can also vouch for mora knives, I have a few of those, one of which I abuse like my glock (the heavy duty companion) I think it's called.

Would you guys recomend for someone who goes on a campin trip in eastern-europe once a year? I just need something big and sturdy for general camp stuff, i have a good quality swiss army knife for fine work. It's the cheapest i can find while still getting props for being sturdy and beat-upable.
Is the saw blade any good? or shall i just get a cheap folding saw at the gardening store?
>>29591191
It would do pretty well for that, its light and near unbreakable, its not the best knife for whittling or fine cuts but if you have a sak you'll be fine, it will do all your batoning and other heavy tasks
>>29591191
And don't get the one with the saw, the saw on a swiss army knife is better even
>>29591191
The saw ain't worth shit, it's just too wide and takes too much effort to cut even small branches. Also, the saw cuts into the sheath and makes shorthanding the knife for carving uncomfortable.
It's good for making notches for building traps or something, but any folding saw will serve you better.
The knife itself is good, but i'd recommend the version without a sawback.
Its a cheap knockoff of the m7 bayonet. Just get an m7 bayonet. Same knife, good quality, can be mounted as a bayonet.
>>29582645
i have one it's pretty great for opening beer cans
>>29585461
This, just make sure you keep it dry because they rust really easily.
I actually won one here and a tripfag mailed it to me
One time I threw it across my room and it stuck into the hardwood floor.
I give it a 10/10
>>29592168
That's not how the bottle opener works.
>>29592199
That's a cock ring.
worth paying $70 didgeridollariroos for one?
nothing cheap here
>>29586938
damnit. i think glocknade fags are retarded, but i still kek'd
>>29592874
Not even close, barely worth the 30$ it is in burgerland, also people in this thread claiming this is a military knife are pants on the head retarted. It's an ok knife but there are better for the price.
>>29592948
Its standard issue to at least one military and a lot of others use them because of how cheap and strong they are
Its a bayonet and an issued item, it counts as a military knife imo
>>29592948
It's used by the austrian military, so it's a military knife.
>>29592874
If things are that expensive save and find ojne really nice knife that you won't be disappointed in
Fallkniven is pretty good and popular/common enough that it should be reasonably priced
>>29582645
it's a sharpened prybar. i use it as such and it takes the task quite good.
Mine seems best suited to stabbing something dead. Not much of a utility knife.
>>29592969
Well they need to get better knives.
>>29582645
Don't care for the way their pistols operate but I'd buy the shit out of a GLOCK® knife with a beefier blade. The current model doesn't seem useful for much beyond stabbing people and prying shit open.
>>29591732
Glock knife is a bayonet for the Steyr AUG and is used by the Austrian army
>>29593407
From a military point of view it's pretty decent - it is strong enough to break things open and stand up to everyday use, it can stab and in a pinch it can cut. Since it's a bayonet it doesnt need much for slashing anyway
>>29594877
It can also get pretty sharp if you know how to sharpen knives. Problem is most people don't. The edge sucks OTB though.
>>29593407
It's a good beater knife, which means it's good for 95% of the military, And the other 5% will be in a position to buy or get issued a knife they want.
>>29593688
made of spring steel. that shit wont shatter in ur hands. fairly robust spine btw faggot.
best $30 knife out there that u actually use.
>oil the bitch after use.
>>29594929
agreed. just get the edge re-profiled. abit on the axe side.
I plan on buying one for throwing. Throwing knives is fun once in a while. My latest thing has been throwing chopsticks, which has been the most fun for me.
>>29592900
I'm a glock fan and I still make jokes about it. It's really funny.
>>29586938
>>29592900
>>29595094
I'm not a Glock fan at all but the glocknade shit is just annoying. It was a short-lived problem that was probably diagnosed before most perpetuating the meme were even born. Just dumb.
>>29583644
fucking redditors
>>29586938
>le glocknade meme
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ub4OswUhLwo
For $20 it doesn't really matter, does it?
Yes they're good. Hard to find a solid carbon knife anywhere near that price range.
>>29594877
>and in a pinch it can cut
Nigger it's not a fucking SKS bayonet. It's not a bayonet at all, it's just profiled like one.
>>29595397
its a bayonet
>>29582847
I'd get a slightly larger knife for batoning if you need this to be a general purpose knife for both combat and bushcraft. try a becker bk7 or one of it's cousins. maybe
>>29595425
That was a secondary function desu, the main bayonet used is the M7 bayonet.
>>29591191
Overall, a decent cheap tool that will last, so with a finer sharper blade, you should be set.
I've never used the saw, but I think it's dumb and not effective looking.
>>29595397
wow, if that's you, good job sharpening.
I've tried and failed.
>>29595957
If you're failing to sharpen a glock knife you're failing to sharpen everything else. They're not magical, steel is steel.
Work on your technique and figure out what you're doing wrong.
>>29595397
Jesus fuck, I was expecting you to cut your arm open.
>>29597784
I was expecting it to explode.
