Yeah you get medical*, "food", and live in the barracks. Medical, if the NCO says you can go. "Food" from the DFAC that you are technically charged for since they pay you a food allowance then take it right out, and the food you get from the DFAC is only available when they say so, and if you miss it because they have you out doing something dumb after COB the too bad go buy your dinner from the PX high speed. Barracks living can be pretty brutal, you aren't really allowed to do anything there and are subject to room inspections at anytime, even the middle of the night. You might have a private bedroom with a small common area shared with another soldier, or you could get stuck in some older barracks and end up with 4 people living on two sets of bunk beds, real Whooah stuff.

Oh yeah, dental in the form of, if you have a messed up tooth they will pull it out instead of fix it, and that is mostly at the discretion of the person looking at you at the time. Sometimes if you are lucky enough to get a tooth replaced rather that pulled, they will do a really half assed job. Had 3 out of 4 fillings that the army did fail. They fell out, or stayed in until the tooth cracked. The one that stayed in, I sweet talked my way to an off post doc, that wasn't easy... As for vision, they give you 2 pairs of not totally crappy looking glasses, and pretty much unlimited pairs of BCGs (birth control goggles). I stuck with the BCGs because they actually fit better. They just look like hell.

the vision care is excellent (in terms of giving you free glasses, i have 4 pairs of wearable civilian glasses on standby because "Woops mine broke 4 times")
they barely do an eye exam though, it's the equivalent of what a real optometrist does quickly after an actual eye exam to CONFIRM a perscription. basically look at letters thru lenses til it works good enough, not necessarily a perscription that's ideal like youd get from actual doctors.
dental is 1 yearly mandatory checkup, but like some anon said if something is messed up, they fucking destroy your mouth and fill the holes with crude rough fillings. 2 motrin take a knee drink water.
