Holy shit guys, I use a $9 belt from Walmart and I've never had a single issue with a holster or firearm, with retention or anything else in the 12 years I've been carrying.
Just buy another $9 belt every 6 years or so when the old one looks worn.

elite CO cobra shooters belt on amazon is pretty nice for the cost. Very stiff even after a fair bit of use. No internal velcro lining for a battle belt though.
