newbie-prepper with my first innawoods build. I tried to keep this similar to how I plan to do things IRL ( but this had less options ) and I couldn't find some of the things I was looking for such as canteens. My thinking goes as follows...

870 is in a bullpup frame now, red dot sight with flip-up fronts and rear diamond, ammo is on bandoliers and paired cartridge belts

Not a bad setup for someone on their first attempt, as you say. Two things you should add are a means to carry and/or purify drinking water, and some snacks, preferably energy bars in case living off the land doesn't turn out as planned. Also, toilet paper and toothbrush/paste. Most people do not realize that if your teeth get bad enough, it can and will kill you in the long term. Always plan for the long term, if possible. Also, using plant leaves to wipe your rear is not a viable or pleasant experience.
This aside, not a bad setup. Though I am curious - why a crossbow? I understand the stealth and ammo endurance aspects. Just curious if that is your weapon of choice or not.

Where I live you don't need any registrations for owning or using a crossbow and the ammo will last you longer. I'm also more interested in bows/crossbows than I am firearms although I think that is only because I know less ab out archery.
