I got some pictures of my grandpa's photo album from his time as an airborne cartographer in the Pacific. Can anyone help me identify his plane? I can dump more if there's an interest.

I think bouncing betties were bombs built to destroy dams and shit.
Was your grandpappy a dam buster?
>>29540067
also google says B24 liberator
>>29540067
Excluding the first one your grandpa sucked dick at taking pictures man.

I don't think so. We're not 100% of his service record but we have pretty solid documentation he started out as a Motor T operator then later switched to aerial map making later in the war when he got sent to the Pacific.

B-24 Liberator can't tell which model because I can't see the nose.
>>29540230
do you know what squadron or group he was with? These pictures might have been taken around the time Louise Zamperini was captured.
>>29540230
Looks like a B-17 in this photo
>>29540295
Unfortunately we don't. I might be able to find it out next time I'm with my extended family but being overseas I'm pretty much at the mercy of what pictures and documents my folks dig up.

You meant B-29 right? You're not retarded... right?
>>29540356
Probably another B-24
>>29540373
OP. I replied to the wrong guy, sorry

Yeah that's a B-24

more garbage from google about the bouncin' bette. It seems to have gone through multiple iterations. I didn't know they did shit like changing the name and art. So originally it was just the "bouncin' bette" without the teddy thing
pretty interdasting
NA4 #10 BOUNCIN' BETTY later had a Teddy Bear and a couple of rather stylized mission markers added. It would originally have been PRU Blue, but its earlier incarnation is not known

Wow. Thanks, man!
Nice photos OP. You should scan them onto your computer.
My Grandpa was a B-24 nose gunner. Pic related is his plane flying underneath another plane while their bay doors were open(as I understood, a camera would automatically take pictures while the bombbay doors were open.)
