For real, I see border patrol agents all the time and it does kind of suck to live down here. Just be prepared for a change of pace in lifestyle and how people do things down south, and especially close to the border like me and nogales bro. Because of the amount of overtime available as well as well as double and triple time pay shifts it's pretty easy for a border patrol agent to be making about 100k by year 3.
However, if any of you decide to pursue border patrol agent or customs officer don't put all your eggs in one basket. 60% of applicants who make it to the polygraph are disqualified. This is a particularly steep dq rate for the polygraph, higher than anyone else or so I've been told. Definitely be working on getting hired for other agencies or departments at this time.
