Which one has the better potential over the other in terms of aftermarket?
An XDS in 9mm
I have a shield but have never played with the clock 43. I like my shield a lot however. It is nice to have a safety that is easier turned off during the draw.

well wouldn't the shield have the upperhand in the aftermarket since it's been out for a couple of years now and how popular it is as a CCW?

You can already get pretty much anything you need for the glock. Plus it's smaller.

Glock wins aftermarket; best thing it has going for it.
Shield is much easier to hold onto if you have large hands and you'll be happier with it. Not sure about that if you have small hands.

It does have the option fot magguts kits that make the gun a 9+1 while retaining the same size

Glock 43 by far for after market support
The fact that you can build a glock 17 19 22 23 ect without using a single OEM part even mags proves that after market support is strong

Glock is thinner and lighter though
