I am interested in your thoughts, experiences, and dreams of the .300 blackout round. This is fascinating to me. Thank you.

Less velocity. More drop. Fascinating indeed
>>
>>29484606
ballistically, its like throwing a rock

Needless to say, I love the suppressing capability is has and bought an MCX in .300 BO for this purpose.

Has become my GT home defense

are you planning to use a suppressor?

We had this debate before. The conclusion remained if the military better researched the round and experimented with different bullet weights and propellant, chances are the loss of velocity and drop will be miniscule
>>
>>29485003
miniscule compared to what

is it useful non supressed

I have two .300 blackout rifles. They have both become my favorite rifles.

Performance out of a short barrel is great. 10 1/2 inch barrel is perfect. So if you want to SBR or use it as a "pistol" it will still preform well. Good for an in the house weapon.

Sub-sonic ammo is easy to load and purchase. Reloading is easy.

Suppresses very well. Own two suppressors now because of how quiet subs are.

Everyone saying "hur-dur it drops like a rock" have probably not really taken their rifles out and shot them to the limits of the .300 I have made hits out to 400 yards with supersonic and a 3x optic, and I know I could push them out further if I wanted to.

Also poor fags hate it because they think their glorious 7.62x39, that gives them 8moa groups is the best thing ever. I can load a round for $0.17 that has more velocity, more energy, and better accuracy, they get butt-mad.

The velocity and drop differences between 5.56 and .300 Blackout will be miniscule if further research was implemented on the round. It can be useful unsuppressed.

Literally a meme round.

Nice to play with on a suppressed AR, not much other than that. Completely impractical, terrible ballistics, an answer to a question that no one was asking.

1950s ammo reinvented for mall ninjas

I can sum up the .300 blackout's appeal with one story

>In enemy outpost in Venezuelan jungle
>"Ghosts, extraction will arrive in 20 minutes, over"
>Get my Honey Badger out
>See Federation soldier hiding in building with IMBEL battle rifle
>Close in on the building while zigzagging between cars
>Get in the building, run up the stairs
>Catch him by surprise, remove arepa
>Suddenly 3 more come charging in
>All of them have bolt action rifles, trying to 360 no scope me
>I immediately kill 2 with my honey badger, and stab the third
>Ohshit.jpg
>Maniac sighted near your location
>Guy in juggernaut armor starts running up and down the street with a knife
>Dive out the window and start magdumping him
>Try to stay out of his way, the fast motherfucker almost caught me
>Throw a knife at him and take him down
>Deploy satcom
>Kill the remaining three federation goons who were trying to sneak up the stairs
>"Ready for evac, coming in hot"
>Helicopter flies in with Hind in hot pursuit
>I do a 360 jump from the building and immediately no scope the Hind pilot
>Fly home and drink some Mountain Dew
>>
The AR platform is superior to all others.

But I like the performance of 7.62x39

Too bad it cant feed well into an AR and needs stupid proprietary magazines

Oh and 7.62 also suppresses really well and would do better in the shorter barrels that are becoming popular

what if we fucked around and made a easily suppressed 7.62x39 performing round in an AR platformance

Oh wow thats pretty smart

Do you want your barrel to be shorter than 18 inches? Get 300 BLK. Do you want your barrel to be shorter than 9 inches? Get 10mm.

>.300 BLK
A round hampered by the obsessive need to be compatible with 5.56 AR-15s and their magwells. Too short to have enough powder space for versatility on supersonic loads.

>9x39
Gods gift to man. If it has to have a rainbow trajectory, it better poke a hole through anything and everything.
>>
>>29484606
If you're building an SBR then go for it, because the powder burns in less than 9 inches of barrel.
>>
>>29485129

what optics are you using for your .300 blackout rifles?
>>
>>29487527
> not >>29485129

Vortex StrikeFire II and an Aimpoint PRO.

> The Aimpoint has a 2MOA dot.
> The Vortex only has a 4MOA dot but muh green dot option. Will buy another if they release a 2MOA version.
>>
It's a big wide slow cartridge that's great for suppressors
>>
>>29487527
Aim point red dot on one
The current 3x is a Primary Arms magnified optic. Nothing special.
