This is a step in the right direction. Through action of the people, we have forced them to hold him accountable in the death of an civilian who did not have to die. You can't root out corruption all in one day, there isn't a magic button. The point is, that department is hopefully going to think twice about trying to cheat the system again, and if they don't we'll punish them for it again.
All we can hope is for progress, to make things better. What would you have us do, oh dour one? What's your fucking solution? I can't explain how different it is here in NZ. I suppose we have less of a gun culture and no roodypoos with racial divide etc so maybe they have less to worry about in terms of work safety.
Our cops have fucked up a few times over the years don't get me wrong. I remember one time they shot at an armed offender and missed and the bullet flew ages and hit and killed a bystander. But thats really rare. They don't carry guns etc.
