Is it possible to kill someone with a knife WITHOUT making a huge mess?
Slam the pommel into their temple, choke their unconscious body.
Stab them in the back of the neck.
Or go for the heart and leave the blade in. There will allways be leakage though

Stab into the heart once, some will leak out but no fountains. Slitting a throat isn't as messy if you preemptively put a basin on the ground.
Ony if your knife has an undermounted shop vac attachment.

This. Knock them out, stab into the heart and the chest cavity will pool with blood. Our you could always knock them out, restrain them, then invert them and drain their sliced neck into a bucket. Or put them into a tub face down, cut some heavy bleeding targets and turn on the faucet.... Better to just do it somewhere that doesn't matter if you make a mess. Ie back alley or their house instead of your own...
