School me on the USP. Is the DA/SA on them good compared to a Sig with an SRT?
Probably not but it's an overall better pistol to the sigs in my opinion.

DA/SA is garbage. Get a Tactical or a match trigger.
But it's fucking beautiful, reliable, easy to maintain, pretty accurate, and will outlast you.

Triggers aren't the best I'm the world but you can get a match replacement otherwise the USP shits all over the sig.

Pretty much this. I love my usp and MK23, but I won't hesitate to say the stock USP trigger is garbage. I strongly recommend getting it upgraded to a match trigger kit that this anon recommended.

Honest question. What makes you guys prefer the USP to the Sig?
The Sig triggers are arguably better and I personally prefer a metal frame. Price is similar between 226/229 and USP and ergonomics are good on both.

A little lighter
In real life, I think it looks way, way cooler (I really hate the way p226's look with rails).
Arguably more durable (but you're still looking at 60k+ rounds through an alloy sig before the frame starts to fuck up.)
I think older sigs are really cool though and I'd love to own one.

I have a USP and my dad owns a 226 and 227. We both agree they're all amazing guns. Buy whatever tickles your fancy more.

Not him but the metals on both the slide and frame are different on sigs. On the older German sigs, they use carbon steel on an aluminum frame.
The carbon steel frames had problems with rusting so they started using milled steel for the slides on newer sigs which is a lot harder on the aluminum frames. This is why it's imperative to grease the rails on sigs and even more so if it's the newer exeters.

The barrel on the USP is godtier and it fits in my hands really naturally. It's also reliable and extremely accurate, to the point I can hit a man-sized target at 100 yards with my compact. As long as the trigger isn't total dogshit I'm not too concerned.I also prefer the polymer frame because I carry mine and the USP is rated to at minimum 20k +p rounds.
