If you really wanna do it then do it, but be aware of the implications (wont be able to reclass for a long time if ever, can't just say fuck it I quit). Also try and push for a waiver, it's literally fucking .5 inches. You can get waivered for fucking anything, asthma, prior drug abuse, missing fingers, fucking anything. I'm willing to bet if you push enough you can get one for half a damn inch.

Ask your recruiter to do a waiver. They have waivers for everything. I was a tanker and I'm 73.25 inches, but I grew that last extra after I signed my contract when I was 17 or someshit. There was a tanker guy who was easily 6'6'' in my battalion that got in with a waiver. They waivered his obscure biker-gang tats and criminal record, too, but this was 2004 and it was a dark time.
You can do 13B, or whatever MOS the MLRS guys are. Paladins are kinda like tanks.

I have a friend that went and found the shitiest little shit box recruiting station with the dirt baggiest looking mother fucker he could find, because he had just survived cancer and wanted to get back in.

I loved being a fire supporter. I originally enlisted as a 13B, and when I got commissioned as a 13A (Field Artillery Officer). I realized I missed my calling in life when I became a company FSO and got to do the fun part of Field Artillery. When you get to your unit try your damnedest to eventually go to JFO school, listen to your platoon FO, and your FSNCO, and learn the FM 6-30 like its the back of your hand.
