Why aren't large planes equipped with cables that commandos can use to swing down and grapple on to smaller planes?
The plane and its commandos could then take two courses of action. They can hijack the enemy plane. If it is determined this isn't the best course of action they can simply attach the cables to the tail and pull up on them, causing the opposing plane's
advantages:
>doesn't expend any munitions
>can be used if the plane in question is out of cannon ammunition and missiles
>can be used to expand own air force
>leaves no survivors
disadvantages:
>short range
>requires stealth
>pilots of opposing planes might be alerted by turbulence
>cables add weight
It would be extremely dangerous.

in reality it is pretty hard to jump from one 300 MPH object to another
also if the smaller plane does a quick dive and those commandos are dead
praytell how are you going to get this larger plane unnoticed yet near enough and foward and high enough to drop a cable onto the other plane?
Griffith did nothing wrong.
because that's a terrible idea? most military planes have weapons on them nowadays(not 100% sure), so why would they do that?

Small planes typically turn better than large planes.
Really what you would want is a small plane that puts dudes on the big plane.
