I'm moving back to America in a couple of months and was looking for a first carry/first ever handgun and the p64 pistol and Makarov both really caught my eye. Anybody had any experience with either of these? Is 9X18 too much for a first handgun?

Money wise perhaps, surplus is getting harder to find and not too many domestic manufacturers make 9X18. Supposedly you can easily switch a makarov to .380, which you can find just about everywhere.

They have to be an FFL license holder, and you will have to pay them. Some places are nice and do it for like $15, some places are dickish and do $50, and different areas have different prices.

I just got mine in today.
You order it from the online site and give them the fax number for a local gun store. Once the gun store sends over their FFL creds the site can then ship it to them. My shop had a $30 fee for the transfer but other then that it was a breeze.
