What are some really good /k/ tier operator movies guys?

Zero Dark Thirty was a fucking garbage movie. Awful. The actions scenes were decent but it takes fucking forever to get there. As for good operator movies try The Way of the Gun and John Wick.

I said it was decent, not great. Not even close to Heat, Way of the Gun, Sicario. The build up was like 2 and a half hours of some bitch like pic related.

Zero Dark Thirty was less of a fun, as you can see in this thread, for people with interest/background in intelligence&analysts aspects, though the action scene at the very end of this very long ride was "near perfect" recreation of special forces action (though the keen & experienced eye will notice some inaccuracies).

As for additional movies, there is 'Lone Survivor', "Black Hawk Down', "Way of the Gun'. 'Mad Max: Fury Road' to a certain extent (SKS weapon of choice when apocalypse hits).
There are some others, but they're foreign and it's unlikely they have a Torrent, especially with subtitles.
>>
13 hours because of the hk417 dropping fools
>>
>>29445357
The build up was an actual intelligence work you dense fucker. This is how this things work: years of boring of intelligence work, 10 minutes of "it's go time".
If you're not into it, you shouldn't have gone to a movie praised for it's authenticity of the work done by the CIA intelligence operative in the hunt for OBL.
>>
>>29445039
The point of that movie is to depict the machinery of the state in movement:

It tracks the way our bureaucratic superpower operates, from the collection of information in the field, to the analysis of the expert who reviews that information, to the decision makers in Washington and in the intelligence communities, all the way to the final execution of the decision those leaders reach based on that analyst's interpretation of the information that was collected.

You didn't get it.

Re-watch it in six or seven years when you're a bit older.
>>
>>29445484
>>29445443
I skipped quite a lot of it to be honest with you. It did seem realistic as far as those aspects go. What it isn't though, is an operator movie.

At least it had James Gandolfini.
>>
>>29445640
> skip to the end because just wants to see tactical operating pew pew

You have to be 18 to post, kid.
>>
>>29445669
I was on an operator movie marathon, saw it posted at least half a dozen times in operator movie threads here and on /tv/. False fucking advertising.
>>
>>29445688
being an operator isn't all funs and buns son.
>>
>>29446718
But being an operator -movie- is about operating, with funs. Didn't realize I was signing up for a fucking documentary since it was always just put in a list with other movies that actually did feature operating.
>>
>>29446809
Then why don't you just put the expendables 2 and 3 on loop since you seem to fancy shit movies.

Black Hawk Down was one of my favorites, but I'm not how well it qualifies in the high speed low drag department.

It humanizes the men behind the guns and shows how even superior training, tactics, and firepower aren't a guarantee of success.
>>
>>
>>29446846
Heat, Sicario, Way of the Gun, John Wick, these are shitty movies now? Also you didn't include Expendables 1, good work outing yourself for liking that shitshow.

The intelligence gathering wasn't even that interesting. I could understand it being that way because that's how things transpired IRL, but that doesn't apply here because Chastains character doesn't exist. Other espionage and intelligence gathering films, like Syriana and the good shepherd, manage to take real events and portray them as anxious, tense and engaging while taking minimal liberties. Zero dark thirty doesn't manage this, even though it goes to lengths to reduce entire teams of analysts into a single fictional character, from a because it is a poor film. Personally I don't even think the operating was sufficient payoff for the slog that the rest of the film was, but your mileage may vary.

I always loved hand-to-hand combat, but I dislike how unrealistic this is in the sense that the protagonist does not take any hits or comes out almost completely clean. I would love for someone to just for once get a knife right through the forearm and keep on trucking. I think my favorite hand to hand scene has to be from Eastern Promises.

Sicario had a dumb female character trying to ruin the movie too, but she didn't succeed fortunately. And there was actually interesting shit going on in between her trying to do that such as pic related.

There was this film I saw years back. It's called The Eagle Has Landed, about a group of Nazi paratroopers that drop into the UK to kidnap or assassinate Churchill. Eastern Promise is a generally underated film.
>>
>>29448071
My explanation for the guns sounding to quiet is that we're seeing that scene through their eyes as if it was filmed by a head mounted camera. Those things don't have microphones sensitive enough to capture the full range of a gunshot, so it sounds unnaturally quiet. Just like IRL combat vids.
>>
>>29447121
The scene when they follow the courier in the market just to get the drop on what he looks like was god-tier. The entire movie was awesome in showings how real-world operators operate. Watch a Michael Bay shitfest if you just want to see things go boom.

I enjoyed 13 Hours for what it was. My autism was in full flare for the RPG's, but you can't expect Hollywood to get everything right.

999 was surprisingly good. Pants on head plot but the action was bretty decent.

Mad Max Fury Road is a great movie and I love it, but it's not necessarily /k/

The new Dredd movie was operator as a motherfucker, it's totally my guilty pleasure.

Check out a movie called Black Death (2010, Sean Bean) for old-timey operating.

Brest Fortress is always a good choice if you can understand Russian and/or can tolerate subtitles.

Edge of Tomorrow is another guilty pleasure, I really like the character progression in that movie.

Starship Troopers.

Fury was good, got a bit slow near the middle but it was a decent movie.

Gangs of New York if you're into that sort of thing.

Eastern Promises is one of my favorites, but the movie is slow and deals with criminal elements.

Cartel Land is a documentary made in 2015 and I recommend it to my friends because of oldhead operators.

What I liked best about it was that it was a movie that didn't feel the need to explain every little thing in itself, and that it remembered that it was, above all else, an ACTION movie.

There's action. There's a story, but it's a story that serves only to have more action. Everyone I've shown the movie to has become addicted to it, and it's fun as fuck to watch with friends.
