Should I or anyone else bother with a .32 pistol or revolver this day and age? I don't wanna shit on it, I want some imput because their are some pretty nice guns chambered in those out there.

Discuss, pics, suggestions etc

.32 ACP is god tier. Its too bad that .32 ACP is mostly a "European" caliber, because it deserves a shit ton of respect.
>>
>>29432271
>>29432279

I'd be interested in seeing these bullet designs in .32 caliber...

We're going to need to get .32 ACP popular again then if we want to see these kinds of loads.

Any good modern .32 pistols? All I know of is the new bobcats from Beretta.

there are still a few good .32 ACO pistols, but theyre mostly more classic ones than modern

Im looking for a .32 S@W long revolver, I can get ammo for it at my LGS but its hit and miss.
Id argue a .32 acp is a perfectly fine pistol to own today, your options will be limited but its easier to come by then a .32 revolver. Those are more of collector pieces now
>pic related, might get a pocket positive later this month
>>
>>29432343
kel tec p32, but depends on your idea of "good". Its probably the only modern .32 ACP pistol I can think off. everything else will be berretta cheetahs, walther ppk or colt 1903s
>>
>>29432820
theyre not, you'll have to look at more classic colts, smith and wessons and the like from about 50 years ago. Thankfully theyre fairly cheap
>>
>>29432820
The only modern .32 revolvers are meant for target shooting.
>>
>>29432271
You can reload various .32 revolver calibers with single buckshot pellets for cheap plinking, cheaper than you can get .22lr for these days where I live.
>>
.32 acp has always interested me. Its suppressible, and used in some very sexy european pistols. Simple and accurate because straight blowback. I'd definitely like one for plinking and hunting guinea fowl. With a nice big suppressor of course

There's .25NAA now to establish some options in that niche.

Does it not having the rim rebated to match that of .25ACP make things bad?
>>
>>29432271
.32 ACP is a good choice for a pocket gun. Granted, it doesn't have the power of a 9 or a .45, but it's enough if you place the shot well enough.

one of my CCW pistols I love it because its smaller than an LCR (except for the hammer
>>
I have a .32 Seecamp that I inherited, I pocket carry it most of the time. I strap on a real gun if I am going out at night or in a dodgy area. I would say it is the absolute bare minimum for SD though, and even then I would expect to have to mag dump to stop any threat. I only use FMJ for .32 and .380, I don't trust HPs to expand and I'd rather have better reliability and penetration.

I love my .32.

Wouldn't be my first choice for self defense, but it's a sweet shooter.

As long as it's in a holster there's no way for it to magically go off. Drawing is not quick, but you can have your hand on it without anyone knowing.

It's great. You don't see too many MAB Model D's around, but it feels wonderful in the hand. Kinda like a Colt 1903.
I've had some issues with light primer strikes but I'm not sure if that's just the cheapo ammo I've been using.
When it came into my possession it had these ridiculous target grips and a plastic adjustable sight. I've since put the proper grips and rear sight on it.
>>
>>29440748
How big a problem is that, you can get a .32H&R magnum gun and then you can choose between either. How hard to find are the magnum rounds for you?
>>
I wouldn't mind carrying a .327 mag revolver. Been wanting to get one for a while now.
>>
>>29441258
Ruger makes the LCR in that chambering now. If all I wanted was something to stop two legged pests instead of having it double as my hiking-in-bear-country gun I'd be all over it.
>>
>>29441193
Have never seen .32H&R magnum, not even at gun shows
>>
>>29438576
I've got a nickel one and it's fun of shoot. Ammo can be tricky to find sometimes though

>>
>>29442517
Never shot an iver johnson so can't really weigh in. The smith is a good pocket gun. You can just about palm it too
>>
>>29442641
How much something like that cost in general?
>>
>>29442810
800 for mine, might be cheaper where you are.
>>
>>29442831
Any reason too get one of those over a Draco or ask pistol?
>>
>>29441372
Hah, guess you'd have to go one size higher to .327 to be able to count on having something to fire.
>>
>>29432271

I carry a S&W hand ejector around the woods/farm/ranch environment
>>
>>29443333
Got pics of it? How you like it? I might buy one or a Iver Johnson.
>>
>>29443352

Avoid any IJ that's not solid framed.

And not on my phone, sorry man.

Love it. It's solid as hell, despite the age. Shoots pretty nice. Was carried by a detective a bit back in the day, shot a bit. Shoots about two inches to the right at 15 m, but what to expect from a 100 year old fixed-sight service pistol? 3 inch barrel, light as fuck.

With some home-grown LSWC on a good slightly above mid-range dose or some of the Buffalo Bore loadings, I feel well-armed enough. And when I'm doing farm or ranch or woods work, it fits my bill. Carry it mostly for that cowboy-ish nostalgia.

I carry it in town sometimes, too. Never lacked confidence in its ability to add holes to things.

Killed a deer with it once.
>>
>>29442869
Since I'm a syrup, couldn't tell you. I like it. Very compact, no recoil whatsoever, and pretty accurate. I don't much care for the folder, but I have no doubt that 20+1 of .32 is sufficient for self defence.
>>
>>29434509
Ruger Sp101, GP100,bearcat or single six conversion, Smith and Wesson 632 in .327 federal if you want somethinf new thatll handle the lighter stuff. I have some .32 short that ive never owned a gun for and idk where i got it.

Think ruger may have done a blackhawk recently too
>>
>>29437461
Your post needs context but as far as the rebated rim goes, it's a necked down .32acp so putting it in a .25acp is a no go. The only real issues are guns chambered in it and bullets that aren't made for the extra velocity. Same story with .32NAA
>>
>>29444091
What I meant was, having something like .25NAA around is generally helpful for that whole *kind* of gun. For example, a company could come up with one design, and easily make it available in both .32ACP and .25NAA.

I know you can't. for example, simply use .44magnum bullets in a .440 corbon gun, the idea was just that a rebated rim would make conversion kits easier.

I used to get laughed at about wanting a 32 acp but it seems that the majority of /k/ is coming around to the light. 32 acp is great and has been used for like a hundred years. With modern ballistics technology there is no reason one shouldn't feel safe carrying a 32 acp, shit even in standard ball it will do just fine. Shot placement is what matters.

The .32acp was the dominant police cartridge used worldwide for almost 60 years. It was only replaced in the name of progress, not because of it's track record. I have no qualms about carrying it daily, and for real emergencies, it just has to get me to the AK in my trunk.
