I think a revolver is still silly even with an equal round count. It's still a thicker and harder to conceal firearm. Revolvers are also prone to a whole host of issues that semi autos are immune to, but since revolvers aren't widely used today people have forgotten about those issues.
I've had quite a few critical malfunctions in revolvers in my lifetime. Situations that required some tools and a fair deal of time to take care of, or were not repairable on the spot. Meanwhile the worst issue I've had with a semi auto is a failure to feed or a double feed which can be cleared in seconds.

Revolvers aren't bad for carry, other than the fact that they're generally thicker, but I don't see any advantage to them. No, they don't have magical immunity to failure, and it's not 1930 anymore so semi-autos are very reliable.
