Market is already well-supplied with HK33 clones, with the C93, V93, Z-43, and MAD33. It would probably be hard to break into it, unless they bought Century's tooling and took over the poor end of the price spectrum.

They could probably easily get a cut of that pie if they make a HK33 clone with an AR magwell.

Imagine one of these with OD green furniture, length of rail welded onto the top of the receiver, and with a magwell for taking NATO mags.

Also available in .300BLK of course, as well as in pistol/SBR size.
>>
>>29337257
well, they already get a piece of the pie from CAI's C308. Last I talked to PTR, they said they where currently focused on the PTR91 market for the foreseeable future and gave no real answer as to whether or not they were going produce anything else. BUT in their defense, they are still reeling back from a major financial blow with the private weapons market calming down last year. thus the deal with CAI. so i would imagine they would be able to get into the hk93 and hk94 market within the next 2-3years if all goes well and they don't get take another financial hit. their business has always been on kinda shaky grounds fyi.

You pull on the ring, which then pulls the trigger. As the charging handle rapidly moves to the rear, your finger takes up the slack that is now in the line. As it pushes forward again, the momentum carries your finger forward again.

The line acts as a spring, it has a mild bit of tension. The system doesn't require precise tension to function.

Took me a while to realize this, blew my mind:

HK X1 = 7.62mm NATO
HK X2 = 7.62mm Rus
HK X3 = 5.56mm
HK X4 = 9mm

HK 3X = Military rifle (G3, HK33, 32 etc.)
HK 5X = Compact size (MP5, HK51, 53 etc.)
HK 9X = Civilian market (HK91, 93, 94 etc)

R&D is expensive and it would HAVE to have an ar magwell which will make it even more expensive for both them and the customer.
My question is, why not a 5.45 version? Wouldn't cost that much, and would fill basically the same role.

What he said. STANAG magazines take 5.56, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, .300 blackout, .50 Beowulf and (I think, not really sure) 7.62x39. Apparently the new HMG StG44 mags will be multi-cal as well.
>>
>>29345723
7.62x39mm I don't think will really feed from 5.56x45mm mags, even if you got them to fit, since you can't fit an AK mag in an AR magwell without massive modifications.

I always thought the forward assist was something peculiar to the ar style bolt or something. Just dont know why you would need one on a roller delayed action. I would have thought they would give a more "positive" engagement to seat a round
>>
>>29347642
>Just dont know why you would need one on a roller delayed action
Why do you need it on a gas operated weapon?
It does the same thing on both an M16 and a G41, it assists the bolt forward if necessary.
>>
>>29347642
>Just dont know why you would need one on a roller delayed action.
Because the returning carrier needs a lot of momentum to close the action, and sometimes it might not get enough. Also, you can use it in conjunction with the charging handle to quietly close the bolt on a loaded chamber without having to let it slam forward. PSG1 and MSG90 have them.
>>
>>29347642
It's for silent closing and to make sure the roller engages the surface if there is dirt or other adverse conditions. If you don't use the forward assist then you will always need to "slap" your charging handle.
>>
>>29347823
>then you will always need to "slap" your charging handle.
