So I went to the range today and tried to use my K31. Already fired before so it's fine. But this time the bolt got stuck without able to close on the last half millimeter or so to fully turn the bolt and now won't move either way, just shifts slightly and that's about it.

So before I end up doing something really stupid to my K31, I'd like to ask on how to get the bolt unstuck and get the chambered round out.
>>
Damn anon, you fucked up
>>
>>29239143
I just need to figure out what happened. Fired perfectly fine before.
>>
>>29239084
have you tried turning it off and on again?
>>
>>29239084
Was the ring on safe?
>>
>>29239084
You need to order a set of new locking lugs; there's still plenty of surplus sets in various sizes available out of Bern.
>>
>>29239084
So uh, anon.
Are you saying that, and correct me if I'm wrong, the bolt is sticky?
As in, the action is a pain in the ass to work because of unknown reasons?
Which implies that the action can in fact be fucked up and become near impossible to use?

AHEM.
THE PROOFS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED.
Czech mate, K31 BITCHES.

What ammo were you using? I've heard reloads need to be fully resized or they won't fit in the chamber. Was there any sealant or anything that could have gotten in?
>>
>>29239084
Use the safety/cocking ring to cock it. Then try to pull it back

That once happened to me. I held the butt of the rifle right on my thigh and yanked the bolt so hard that the casing ripped away from the stuck bullet, ejected towards my face and filled my mouth and eyeballs with delicious imr 4064
>>
>>29240017

You can't be sloppy with reloads with the 7.5x55mm round.

Tolerances are like a match rifle.
>>
>>29240240
Couldn't improperly sizing the case cause the cartridge to get stuck and stop the bolt from fully closing, like what OP is talking about?
>>
>Ammo used
This time was a box of Graf and Sons Hornady since I accidentally left the GP11 at home.

Is this brand known for causing problems?

>>
>>29239876
Yeah...I probably am.
But I'm also RIGHT.
One of your own finally admits that I was right; K31 actions are, at least with the right conditions, sticky as fuck.

The ammo's expensive as hell, the action is sticky, and it offers nothing over any other rifle of the day, especially now that it's no longer an economic option.

It's overrated.
>>
>>29240506
the way the bolt rotates is fucking cool though, the rifle has history and is a talking point. and cheaper than a k98
>>
>kek sticky bolt meme rifle
Did I miss something recently? I don't remember there being this talk about K31s.

It's $600 dollars. Somehow I don't think anyone has sour grapes over a $600 rifle.

I suspect this has more to do with some oddball WW2 rifle rivalry, 70 years after the fact.

Any gun can break, the k31 just does it less often.

Did you use reloads or what?

>It's $600 dollars.

Who the fuck pays $600 for a K31?

The highest I've ever seen one go locally was $425, and that was an absolutely MINT pre-war civil production rifle.
>>
>>29240967
Where at dude? I'm seeing them MINIMUM 450+ here in Texas.

Itt: nugget and mauser owners jelly they didnt get a moa milsurp rifle.

Than what?
Every other rifle of its time period?
Doubtful.
Guns fifteen years prior? Ehhh, maybe.
A Jennings or Raven arms?
Definitely.

It's not Wednesday, my dudes.

Headspace?....Does it that with each cartridge? Don't slam it. K31 are on tigth tolerances.

everything can break, autist. its still a fine rifle. the only thing sub-par about it is the ammo prices
>>
>>29240197
On one hand, I am inclined to call bullshit on you thinking you ripped brass with just your arm muscle, but on the other I completely believe someone like you would try to brute force a loaded, malfunctioning gun without eye protection and your mouth breathing in full effect

You managed to fuck up a K31? How's that possible?

Been shooting with K31s since I could go to the gun range, never heard of anything like that happening.

Shit man, take some fucking pictures and show it.

Diopter sights are better than iron sights.

>>29240506
Every K31 I've ever shot had perfect smooth actions, I seriously don't understand what you Yankees put on your K31s, must be all that high fructose corn syrup or some shit.

yes it absolutely can and will

Aim surplus had them last year for 300.00 for about 5 months before selling out.

I don't understand either, I'm American and my k31 is super smooth, great trigger and zero malfunctions. Gp11 is gone in the US but prvi is 75 cents, it's not the greatest but only a few cents more than their 30-06
