Hey /k/, noguns as fuck
I want to fix that. Based on the sticky, I've narrowed it down to:
CZ 75
IWI Jericho 941
Beretta M9
and the SIG Sauer P226

Some opinions on these and their variants to help me decide would be appreciated.
>>
>>29196576
cz-75 if you don't care about looks
941 if you only care about looks
m9 if you want to eventually make a samurai edge
p226 if you like the looks and have money

no joke everyone likes their favorite handgun only because of aesthetics

Mostly this.

However the Jericho has the best trigger between the SIG, CZ, and Jericho.
I haven't even ever fingerfucked an M9/92FS, so no comments on that.

The Ergos and extra weight of a 941 make it an excellent range gun.
>>
>>29196576
They're all quality pistols.

The CZ and Beretta are world-renowned for standing the test of time.

The Jericho was modeled after the CZ.

Sig is German, and you know the Germans always make good stuff.

Go to gunstores and fuck with all of them, if possible. (might be hard for the 941)

Try to find a gunstore that has a range that you can try them out at.
>>
All are equally reliable, similar capacity and size metal framed DA/SA nine millimeters. It'll be up to which you are most comfortable with. My personal experience has only been with the M92FS and the P226, of which I prefer the P226 marginally for the decocker and grip. All will do you well, try to at least hold each before you make a decision

Thanks a bundle. Sounds like I've got a pretty good pool to pick from.
>>
>>29196658
Thanks. There's a decent rental place nearby I can go to guve them all a shot.
>>
>>29196576
All fine handguns. I would personally recommend a compact glock in whatever calibre you want, just the simplicity, lightweight and relative low price and after market capabilities make it ideal for a first. But ultimately, as all these threads come down to, shoot all of them first. See which you're comfortable with. You can't go wrong with any of these handguns though.

Those are all good pistols.

Go to a range that rents guns and shoot them, figure out which one feels the best.

>triggers
Going strictly off base models (75b, I think the 941 doesn't have "versions", M9/92FS, base-model P226 and not a mk25/Legion) the Jericho has the best trigger, but with the upper-end stuff a CZ75 Shadow is the best (but double the price).

CZ and Jericho mags are rare, and if you want OEM stamped ones, quite expensive (though Mec-Gar, which is OEM for CZ, sells non-CZ-stamped ones for like half as much). M9 mags are every-fucking-where and cheap as shit. Sig mags are common but fairly expensive.
>avoid Promag at all costs regardless of which pistol you get
>>
Got my first handgun today

a SIG p226

been fondling it all day
>>
>>29196576
Really comes down to feel. I prefer the Beretta and the SIG because I own those. Any on that list will make for a fine first gun.

>>29196733
That is a fine choice.
>>
get a Glock
>>
>>29196576
Go touch them all. See which one you like the best. The CZ and Jericho have the smallest selection of aftermarket accessories. That's pretty much the only difference between all of them.
>>
>>29196576
What do you want in your first handgun? A fullsize that you can shoot comfortably and carry ok? A compact that isn't as good a shooter but carries ok? Great aftermarket and relatively low entry cost? I usually recommend the 92fs/M9 as I love mine and you can't beat the aftermarket. That being said the Jericho and CZ also have a good aftermarket.

I have a german sig but kindly fuck off with this shit please
>>
>>29198236
I want somthing perhaps a bit smaller than full size, as I'll be carrying in uniform. Low entry cost is always nice. I don't really care to accessorize, beyond a simple holster. I'm also left handed, so something ambidextrous would be nice, but isn't a necessity.
>>
>>29198282
Well I don't know about the Jericho, but I'm pretty sure the 92fs/CZ are "amphi" in that you can switch mag release.
>>
>>29196576

Just throwing in my two cents; Ruger SR22 or Smith & Wesson M&P 22 are a lot of fun, plus the ammo is pretty cheap.
>>
>>29198257
I was just joking and making a reference to those shamwow commercials, mang.
>>
>>29196576
get any of them and I doubt you will be disappointed
>>
>>29198282
Most employers have a accepted list of sidearms, might want to start there. Hell some even require calibers bigger than 9mm. I would go with the 92fs or a CZ 75BD but secretly want the CZ 85 Combat

Instead of recopying my question here it is: >>29192622
>>
>>29199057

hes right you know.

for a functional handgun Glock cannot be beat.

if you want a gun for what a gun is intended to do glock is the best choice in all roles aside from pocket pistol. If you want pocket pistol get an LCP.

If you prefer aesthetics and SA/DA / external hammer and second strike capability. Just pick the one you like best in your hand and visibly. They will all work fine.

For handguns I currently have a 92FS, Glock 21SF, LCP. I have been considering all the guns you listed aside from M9 cause I have one. I am leaning towards P226 as it seems clearly the best of that list.
>>
>>29196656
>They're all quality pistols
i would agree. find them in store and fingerfuck them, im sure youll have a clear winner after that. except for the 941, that may be hard to find in a LGS
>>
nice op, nice
>>
>>29199664
Depending on how much your dad wants, and what condition the Smith is in, that might be a good choice.
>>
>>29198282
Every gun OP listed has a compact version. Try those if you can. Bonus points for carrying a full-size mag for your reload.

It can be easily beat. Full ambidextrous everything and sexier too. Not to mention the grip is just nice. The trigger pull isn't as good, but that is something I have never given a fuck about for under 800 dollars. Also it doesn't have a fanbase of cockhead memesters. Million points right there. I'd rather have people think I'm a faggot than know it.

I do wish I had gotten the 9mm but I wanted to profit from 40fags being more willing to pay a fair price for something that isn't a glock.

The Jericho isn't as good at the others.
The Beretta is the prettiest.
The CZ is the best value.
The Sig is the best (and most expensive); but you should get a 229 because its shorter with the same capacity.

>>
>>29200088
i really disliked that whole line of SW. like gripping a 1x4" piece of wood
>>
>>29200262
Honestly, not sure. I've only carried two pistols, a Bersa Thunder for close to ten years, and the P238 for about four or five months. Being as tiny as it is, the P238 is pretty easy to conceal. Has great sights. I would recommend it.

I have 30+ mags for my g19 and g27 that I got for pennies on the dollar due to how many are out there though. The low cost of mag holders and kydex holsters is nice. Plus the sub2000 and AR pistols in 9mm dont use FN mags.

Those are the benefits of the honda civic of guns.
>>
>>29200353
I have the P938 right now. Shoots great and accurate but is having a recurring fail to extract issue. Is at the factory now under warranty repair.
>>
>>29200468
Cheap mags are nice, which is why I also like slavshit, but most glock holsters will fit an fns (among other polymer slabs) without problem. Not that any of that matters to me as I just throw on the safety and toss all that shit in my manpurse. Gotta love an actual safety when you have a sack full of pens and magazines. I really should just get a bigger bag and cc an aks.

Hey /k/ I'm another anon getting his first handgun as well. I really love the look of 1911s. How is this? I also have a 400$ budget
>>
>>29200693
Fire one first. They are fuckhueg and a thing you either hate or tolerate enough to spend tons of money modifying.
>>
>>29200659
You shouldnt be relying on the safety and just throwing your gun in a bag. At the least get a mic kydex holster that covers the trigger. I cant imagine an fn fitting properly into a g19 holster either unless we are talking about crappy nylon universal holsters which are less than ideal.
>>
>>29200733
Well what do you have in mind?
>>
>>29201345
Just saying to fire one first. I thought I liked .40 until I shot a few and now generally prefer a 9mm. I thought I liked glocks, but can't stand them. Still like the idea of them like >>29200468, but don't like the way any of them feel in my hand.

Just shoot it first. You may love it, you may hate it. I've fucked myself over setting my sights on a single gun, not that there's anything wrong with doing that, you just to actually like the gun and not the idea of it or the way it looks.
>>
>>29196576
If you have big hands don't get the CZ. I have yuge hands and the p226 fits the best.
