So /k/, I went down to my local Cabela's recently and this was the only 54r I could find. At all.

What is going on? I expected maybe a little jump in price from the sanctions, but now I can't find milsurp at all. And these prices are absolutely unreasonable.

What do?

Is it expected to pay like $1 per round for 7.62x54r? I'm glad I didn't buy a vepr now...

there you go.

Got a 30-30, 5.56, .308, and a 12ga.
All freedumb or you dumb.

That fucking image.
>>
>>29088994
They used to sell it for $9. And like I said - haven't seen surplus anywhere else, either.

>>29089004
5.56 tends to be more expensive on average.
>>
>>29089027
But I've never seen a shortage of it.

Plus that recoil (or lack thereof) is sexy. So is that penetration and speed.
When you're doing security work the slowass-ness of buckshot can make all the difference, but that's a different subject.
>>
>>29089054
>slowass-ness of buckshot can make all the difference
How
Tell me how god damnit
Tell me RIGHT NOW.
>>
>>29089065
Shoot some regular 00 buck in an open field aiming at a target at about 30 yards, watch your friend shoot some from the side. You can see it. When you shoot it there's a split second that it takes to get to target. It's going to be faster than human reaction time, but if they're already moving because they see you lining up a shot they have so much more of a chance of not getting hit than if you're using an AR where it's practically immediately on target. it's somewhat based in fuddlore, but it makes sense to me.
Also dat spread isn't exactly desirable when you're securing a bank with people all over.
>>
>>29089065
>speed of 00 buckshot 1,200 fps
>speed of 5.56 NATO 2,500 fps
5.56 is a smaller round with a lot more momentum, if they're wearing a vest they have that much less of a chance as well. But with 00 buck you also might remove their entire head too, so it's hit or miss, but I prefer 30 rds of semi auto fuck your shit to even a tube fed semi auto 10ga tbqhfam

>>29088972
this is why you buy ahead of time.
2000 rounds of herters for $700 of gun broker a year ago.

No, OP is shopping poorly. There's lots of 7.62x54 on the market for less than half that.

has anyone noticed how everyone seems to be out of stock on ar lowers?

The lowest price on the site you linked is still 45c/round - while a normal price used to be 24c/round, if not lower.

>>29090937
Yeah, unfortunately, I hadn't thought about the consequences of the whole shit-show with Russia until recently, and now it's too late.

Have been debating whether I should get an AK or an AR. AKs are fun, but ARs are customizable.
>>
>>29093748

I'm pretty sure 7.62x39 is already more expensive than that.

And AKs aren't? If you buy a standard AKM like a Wasr you can do pretty much any customization you would probably end up doing to an AR.

21 cents a pop before shipping, pretty close. Second cheapest I see is standard Wolf 123gr for 23 cents a pop before shipping.

I managed to grab the last of my cabelas herters 54r for $8 a box before they stopped carrying it at all. Same goes for x39 but I didn't get any before it disappeared.

Practice and lead more on moving targets.

Also

>talking about indoor ranges
shiggy

That said, a shotgun is less than ideal for its relatively low ammo capacity.
