pic unrelated
>>29084937
mosin nagant
Meme guns you say? This is a job for the Marlin 1895
>>29084937
Moist nugget
>>29084964
what caliber does that shoot?
338 for elk
270 short mag for anything smaller
>>29085004
45.70
Bear killer.
Disregard that Dino killer.
6.5x55 swedish mauser.
>>29085053
>swedish
does it shoot Somalian cum?
300 win mag will work for both, but pretty unnecessary for something as small as a deer less than 400 yards
>>29085092
it was invented back when sweden was hard as fuck
>>29085246
whats a good rifle to get though? Remington 700? that's the one i always see as the "hunting" rifle.
>>29084937
Get a 30-06 or a .308
They both work fine for elk, deer and bear.
Shot placement rules over "muh caliber" any day of the week
>>29085310
>Remington
Never buy a fucking Remington you newfag.
Remington=Remshit
God Tier
>sako
Good Tier
>tikka
>savage
>ruger
>weatherby
>>29085371
thats why i'm asking anon! what would you recommend, i'd like a bolt or level action.
>>29085310
I have a Tikka for my 270 short mag. Probably my favorite
>>29085310
Just buy a yugo mauser and not bother with modern shit.
>>29085371
my bad bro, i didn't scroll down all i saw was the newfag comment. thanks.
Barrett M107A1 is best gun.
>>29084937
I'm in a similar situation
Should I buy a .44 mag lever gun or a .357 lever gun?
>>29085825
I'd go for the .357 so you can use 38 special for plinking.
>>29084937
>got all the meme guns
>no mention of deagles, ACR, or Mosin
Kill yourself.
>>29085847
But couldn't I also plink with .44 special?
And is .357 or .44 even capable of taking down a bear?
>>29085267
The last time Sweden was "hard as fuck" Napoleon was a glimmer is his father's eye.
But the 6.5x55 is amazing.
Anyways OP, get a Savage 110.
In the same boat as OP. Looking into Thompson Center Arms "Venture" in .308. They seem to have a lot of features and a low price that could go towards glass.
Anyone have any experience with them?
>>29085888
no its not but >>29085825 wasn't necessarily asking about killing a bear.

>And is .357 or .44 even capable of taking down a bear?
I know there are special hot loads for .357 for bears and .44 has been touted as a bear defense side arm.
But if we are to take some real world examples, there was that one guy who was charged by a starved brown bear. He was able to shoot off a few rounds of .454 Casul out of his snub ruger Alaskan before tripping on a branch, but iirc, only one shot hit and that was the shot that saved the guy's life.
It really does matter where what and how you plan on hunting. If it's under 400 yds get a t3 in a 7-08. If more get 280 remington or 30-06. Animals won't know the difference.
>>29085310
Remingtons shit now
Get a tikka t3, howa 1500/weatherby vanguard, savage something etc, all the major brands are good (just not remshit)
>>29084937
So a fuddy oight seecks will do you fine.
i personally like the .270 win.
if its more on the elk sized game and bigger, a .338fed/.338winmag isnt bad, a little much for durr, but not insane.
Something like 95% of all durr is taken within 150 yards, so a lever gun is good also, i carry a marlin 336 hunting for brush (got some thick brush in the temperate rain forest)
as for make, savage, tikka, ruger, cant go wrong with any of them.
>>29085825
30-30
>>29085888
For hunting, dont go less then .30-30 in a lever gun.
if you're doing mainly bear hunting/protection, while other calibers will work fine, might as well get it in .45-70
>>29085371
He's sorta right, post 80-90s Remington has gone to crap.
Awesome tier
Winchester
Weatherby
Sako/Tikka
Good Tier
Ruger
Savage
Browning
Pic related is my 700 SPS, I've put around $1800 dollars altogether in to it, that's including the price if the rifle. The stock isn't actually that bright of green.
>>29084937
I hunt deer with an AR-15. For anything larger I'd get a gun in 308, probably a Browning BLR.
>>29085991
I've got a TC Venture, they're fucking amazing rifles, TC had to stop making the Icon cuz people were only buying the Venture. It's a great rifle, a bit heavy but accurate as anything.
>>29084937
Where do you live? If it's legal, .308 Win is a great do-all big game round. Use heavier bullets for elk.
